I’m Totally Trying It – February Edition

I used to call this “Try It Tuesday”, but yeah, today’s not Tuesday and I wanted to post it, so I changed the name. In case you are new here, this is how it works(*) – I pick a few things, try them for a month or so and then report back. Here’s what I am giving a go this time:

~Parenthood: Everyone says this tv show is amazing. So I watched like one episode and wasn’t into it. Clearly I need to give it another go because ALL these people can’t be wrong can they? It seems like my kinda show, so I am not sure why I wasn’t into it? No matter, I’m trying it again!

~Stila BB Cream: BB creams seem to be the talk of the beauty world and I think it’s about time I dove in. This is described as “An all-in-one, high-definition, age-defying beauty balm enriched with broad-spectrum SPF 30.” It hides imperfections, smoothes skin, reduces wrinkles and more. How can I go wrong? I need every single one of these things.

~Sushi: Okay, I mean I have tried sushi, here and there and find it “okay” but I feel like maybe I am just not giving it a fair chance?  I need to go to a sushi restaurant and order an actual meal of sushi.  And if I still think it’s just okay, fine.  But at least I’ll have tried.

~Drinking & Tweeting by Brandi Glanville: I’ve been hearing good things about this book and it seems to be right up my alley, so why not.  I totally want to start reading more and this might be the perfect way to get going again!

~Honest Laundry Pods: I love Honest’s laundry detergent and I love Tide pods, so I think a combination of the two is going to be awesome.  Although I am sure pods cost more, I think they actually are cheaper for me since I don’t measure the liquid detergent and end up using way too much.

So that’s what I am trying in the next month or so.  Is there anything you have tried lately and loved? Or hated?  Anything you want to try soon?

(*) I realized, as I typed this you likely don’t need me to explain how “trying things” works.

I’m with you on the BB creams. I’ve gotten so many samples that I need to give it a try but I really like my plain ole Oil of Olay that I use daily and its so hard to switch.

I don’t mind Sushi I just don’t know what to order. When I go with my brother he orders stuff and its really good so I think if I got that part down then I would like it more. Hmm maybe its time to schedule a lunch with my brother 😉

Let me know how Brandi’s book is! I have a love/hate relationship w/her!

Ice been addicted to BB Cream since my friend Jennifer introduced me to it in October!! I never got into parenthood until I got Hulu and watched several episodes in a row & now it’s one of my faves!! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!! Let me know how you like the honest pods! Which do you prefer in general, honest or tide? I’ve been using All Free pods for our sensitive skin & wonder if Honest would be good for us?!

I read Brandi’s book in one sitting. I really enjoyed it and thought it was hilarious.

When you give sushi a chance you have to make sure you are eating the real stuff and not the shopping mall fast food version.

I used to watch Parenthood but now I just don’t have the time. There are so many shows I want to start watching (i.e. Revenge and Scandal) but Hulu Plus doesn’t have the first season so how am I supposed to “get in” to the show by watching from the second season forward?!?! Hulu Plus should keep all the old episodes! Gah, first world problems.

The explanation is good because now I know to expect some reviews later! Looking forward to them!

I could eat sushi several times a week — love it! Make sure to order soup and salad too!

Let your readers know how you like Brandi’s book — I almost put it on my kindle but then wasn’t sure. I kind of felt the same way about Kirstie Alley’s book.

Parenthood is one of my favorites, you really get into the story lines. Once you have really good sushi you just can’t get enough!!!

Brandi’s book was good but a REALLY short read. I completed it in two nights. Love her though. Also LOVE the BB Cream. I use it instead of foundation because of the 2 in 1 benefits. All good “try it’s”! Enjoy!

Definitely give sushi a try, I wasn’t too sure of it at first but the more I tried it the more I loved it. 🙂

I enjoy the sushi we sell at my store, but the stuff at an actual restaurant is so much better!

I was looking at BB creams this week, I’m thinking it might be time to give one a try.

  12. Kristin

I haven’t tried bb creams yet! I don’t exactly know what it is. As long as it looks like clown makeup, I’ll do it. 🙂

Parenthood is soooo good! It definitely picks up as the seasons go. You’ll like it, I promise!

Head to Rochester for the best sushi! It’s a cute, tiny place downtown. Sumo sushi. Also him sushi at 23 and van dyke is good, right by Starbucks. 🙂

Parenthood – I’ve watched this from the start. It’s dumb and frustrating at times, but I have to tell you, I cry at the end of almost all the episodes. It’s a good show.
Sushi – I love it… but I am not one of those people who HAVE to have it and all the time. And I dont like all of the rolls ever invented, there are certainly some strange rolls.
Stila BB cream – I need to use my birchbox rewards points – so I immediately was convinced this is what I’d get from your review… but sadly they don’t have it on birchbox.
Brandi’s book – I was going to read this… mostly so I can have an opinion on it. I like but mostly dislike her so I had no idea how I’d feel about her book. I’ve been putting it off because I HATED Kyle Richards book, but I liked Taylor Armstrongs… I really want to read Caroline Manzo’s but I feel like I’ve been waiting for-ev-er.
Laundry pods – I’ve never used a laundry pod before… I imagine them being just as easy as the cascade things I put in my dishwasher? Maybe if i had a good coupon I’d try it.

brandi’s book was hilarious! i read it in 2 days and was bummed when it was over. love the part when she talks about the “gift” she got from eddie!

OMG, Parenthood, one of my favorite shows… It took me a few episodes to get into, but once you get a few under your belt, The Braverman’s grow on you… I can’t get enough of the clan!!!

I want to try a BB cream too… Maybe I will pick some up tonight when I am at Target, I have to go there anyway so why not.

OMG, Sushi!!! If I could eat this all day everyday I would… I’m so glad my parents made me try this, I haven’t been able to give it up since!!!! Make sure you go to a really good sushi place that gets the fish fresh daily…I’m afraid that one bad experience with bad sushi will more than likely turn you off forever…

Brandi Glanville…isn’t that the chick that LeAnn Rimes wronged by stealing her husband??? I will have to look into this book…I’m always looking for something interetsting to read!

I’m obsessed with the Tide laundry pods, I want to know why it took me so long to discover them… I’ve noticed that my clothes seem softer and they definately smell a ton better than when I used the liquid!!!

  16. Danielle

I think I posted this on your FB but I’ll post it here too…

Parenthood – I wasn’t into it after the first episode or two, but for some reason I kept watching and I do love it now!

Sushi – When I first started eating it, I had to order something with cream cheese or tempura with a spicy sauce! Spicy shrimp tempura was my fav! Try that!

  17. Sophia

I finished Brandi’s book a few days ago! It was a super easy read and I love her!

  18. Sue

Parenthood is absolutely one of my all time favorite shows. I watched all of the season in 6 weeks in Netflix. The Bravermans rule!!!

I love BB cream. I also tried this for the first time about 6 weeks ago. I used the Garnier BB cream and have nothing but good things to say about it.

As far as sushi goes – one of my all time favorite things to eat! But, it’s got to be good sushi (not mall sushi, etc.) or else it’s just not the same.

    Enjoy!!

Hey totally off-topic, but I am wondering what you use to make all your cool collages like this?? They look so professional and I’d like to play around with making some too!
