I think my subscription box drought is over! I received my August Fancy Box this morning and I am expecting a bunch more the rest of the week!! Woot woot!!

August Fancy Box
The Box

Fancy Box ships via FedEx and always arrives very quickly. I didn’t even get a tracking notification on this box yet (sometimes I get them before the box arrives, sometimes I don’t), so it was a nice surprise on my porch this morning.

First Look

The box was on the lighter / emptier side this month, but we all know that doesn’t mean much. I always seem to get the first round of shipments for my (regular) Fancy Box, so I had no idea what to expect.

The Information Cards

I don’t know if this is new or if I just never noticed it before, but the information cards now include categories on the front of them.  I checked my account and noticed that my categories said “Home & Gadgets”, but I received items from other categories as well.

~In Snap Issue #9 (Media) ($20): This is basically a magazine of “street fashion”.  It’s photographs of off-duty models, editors, international buyers and celebrities and their style during New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.  I’m not 100% sure what I will do with this, but hopefully I can find a good home for it!

Jellyfish Set (Gadget) ($28): It took me a minute, but it appears that this is for watching your iPhone and taking pictures while outdoors. The sunscreen helps to block the glare and the tripod can be used to either assist in taking pictures or as a stand to watch videos.  Now that I understand what it’s for I am dying to try the sunshade for box pictures!  Hopefully my mail comes soon!

~LAEX Card Holder (No Category Listed) ($27): This is supposed to be a card holder for men, but I am probably going to end up using it.  It’s a bit (okay a lot) bright for B, but I like it!

~Tovolo Ice Balls (Home) ($10): In the last few months I have gotten more things to make ice cubes than I’ve ever owned in my life!  Who knew there was all these cool ice “things”.  These make enormous ice-spheres (2.5″), so I think that the only way to use these properly would be in a massive drink right?  Sounds good to me.

~Young & Wild Tee (Womens) (est .$20): I am not young or wild but I this is a super soft and cute t-shirt.  I think they must use Abercrombie and Fitch sizing though because while it says it’s a Large, it is super small.  And speaking of Abercrombie, I went in their kids store the other day to see if L fit in their stuff yet.  On the way in, B was like we should just go to regular Abercrombie – their stuff is small enough for him.  BAHAHA!!!

Young & Wild Tee

All totaled I came up with a value of $105 for the August Fancy Box.  I did estimate the price of the tee though, but I suspect I am pretty close in my valuation.  I certainly would have paid $105 for everything in the box, but I am okay with the $46.95 ($39 + $7.95/shipping) I did pay.  Sometime I love everything in the box and sometimes I end up with things to gift, which is a good thing too.

Did you get a Fancy Box this month?  What’d you think and what’d you get in it?  If you are interested in subscribing or want to learn more, click here.  Ohh, and if you are having trouble finding the different Fancy boxes, just do a search for “Fancy Box” and they will all come up!  You can still use “FOLLOWUP10″ to save 10% off your box, but I STILL have my fingers crossed something better pops up soon.

Those sphere ice molds are AHMazing for alcholic beverages! They keep your drink from watering down and tasting gross!

I love that tee! I wonder where/how I can get one?

  3. The ice balls are meant for highballs and drinks like scotch… they melt slower than regular ice cubes and don’t dilute your previous alcohol!

I’m meh on most of this but the iPhone stuff is kinda cool. I’ll have to see if I can find that somewhere.

Those categories on the information cards are definitely new! I still have last month’s cards and I’m not really sure why. Excited about those sphere ice molds. I’ve been meaning to buy them. They are great for drinks when you prefer it straight versus mixed.

I got my box today. I’m not impressed with this months. T- shirt is way to small. $27 for that plastic card holder…no way! There is really nothing in there this month I will use. Really disappointed
