Thursday Thoughts

~L is still up-north (he’s with my mom – aka his favorite person) and continues to have the time of his life up there!  He’ll be home tomorrow (I can’t wait!) and then the countdown to the next trip up there begins.  I really think he could spend months up there and not get bored.  They’ve been on a little Pure Michigan tour and have been to Mackinaw City, Alpena, Dinosaur Gardens and who knows what else.

L and the Mackinaw Bridge!

~While at Target yesterday, I tried to find a few books you all recommended earlier in the week, but they didn’t have any of them. Boo! Looks like WB and I are going to have to attempt to head to the bookstore or take the easy way out and order on Amazon. Any last minute recommendations?

~I’m on a kick to once again use up my samples and have stocked a bunch in my bathroom drawers to help me do it.  Hopefully having them at my fingertips helps me do it!

~So I got one of my GAP orders yesterday and one of the shirts had the sensor still on it (so everyone who said that stores will fulfill orders is totally correct).  So I contacted GAP (*) and they gave me a 10% off coupon code for my troubles.  I was all whatever until the lady told me it can be stacked with other codes.  WHAT???  They just e-mailed me one last week because one of my items was no longer available and I totally deleted it.  I always wondered why they bothered sending them because they have 30% off codes all the time so who would use the 10% when they have 30% ones??  Ha!  Little did I know they could be stacked.

~I’m sure you’ve heard by now, but PopSugar released a spoiler for their Fall Must Have Box.  Boxes will include a Rachel Zoe Fall 2013 Gold Knot Ring. I love the looks of the ring, but I don’t wear rings often (other than my wedding / engagement rings which I don’t even wear a ton) so I have mixed feelings on this.  If nothing else, it will make a great gift!  Although I have heard that RZ only makes rings in a Size 7, so there’s that to work around!

~I am on the hunt for something to display / store my nail polish in. I want something I can hang on the wall in my “hoarder closet” so I can easily see all my colors.  I need something that has a bar or something in the front of it though because I have a lot of Julep and they don’t stand up well on their own.  And I want it tall as opposed to wide.  Any suggestions???

That’s it from here.  Don’t forget to link-up your Thursday Thoughts below!

(*) I posted it on their FB page and they told me to call their customer service. They basically wanted to know my order number so they could contact the store that sent it and just remind them to make sure the sensors are removed going forward.

I totally pulled my stash together too. I was bad about pulling out the couple things I was most excited about and leaving the rest in a bag under my sink well you know those were never going to be found so I got a nice basket and put them all in there. I’m excited to be able to see what I have and it will make it easier to grab some things to take to my sister in the dorm when I visit her. 🙂

Nice is Just a Place in France is also a funny beach type read, but if you’re easily offended, or don’t like sarcasm it definitely isn’t for you!

I have no real comments other than to say if you get good nail polish display ideas pass them on, mine are all in a plastic container in a drawer and it seems like there must be a better way.

I wonder what other clothing stores allow coupon stacking (I am mentally preparing myself for my son’s first need for back to school clothes)

I saw a YouTube video of some girl that had like 180 nail polishes and she got her rack on amazon!

I’m sure you are so excited to get him home tomorrow! My sister is anxiously awaiting her daughter to come home since we have had her for almost 2 weeks. 🙂

    Oh I submitted before I said more…

There is an upgrade with a glass door. That’s simply awesome.

Google “spice rack nail polish holder” =) Its the way to go!

Morning Jennifer, try a spice rack or a old fashion plate holder.

I love how you’re storing your samples!! Where did you get that clear organizer? I’ve been looking for something like that!

So I did end up picking up “Orange is the new Black” at the bookstore the other day and I am flying through it! I really like it so far… I would recommend it!

You totally read my mind! I was just thinking last night as I was fumbling through a bin of nail polish, there’s GOT to be a better way to store these. I’ll have to check out the nail polish spice racks that others suggested!

I loved “Me Before You” and “Tell the wolves I’m Home”. Just bought “Silent Wife”.

Here is mine that I made a few months ago. I bought a 1/4″ thick piece of wood at lowes for the back and 2″ long thin boards at lowes for the shelfs, and then used a hand saw to get them to size. I used wood glue to for the shelfs and then reinforced with hot glue, very easy. It is lightweight and cost under $30 for the wood. I then spray painted it and cut up some fancy scrapbook paper for the back lining. I bought stuff to make a second one today, I already outgrew this one and its 48″long by 16″ wide!

Please post a picture of your “hoarder” closet! Part of our linen closet has become my hoarder closet and I would love to see some others to get ideas for organization, etc. Plus, I would love to see other people’s insane collection of girly goodies, not just my own!

You can also stack codes at Kohls. I stacked a 30% with a 15% which worked on their clearance stuff as well=dirt cheap kids clothes. Also wheres that plastic bin from that you have your samples in??

I visited everyone in the link up and left comments on most! I need to organize my makeup badly….but my biggest problem is my dinky master bathroom. Sigh. I need to pinterest my bathroom!
