February 2014 Stork Stack

After last month’s craziness, I had been really looking forward to receiving the February 2014 Stork Stack.  I was super curious to see what they would do this month since I am sure they are hoping to put the January box (you can read about that here) behind them.

The Box

Stork Stack typically ships the first week of the month and seemed to be a few days late this month.  Once I got the tracking notification on it though it was here in no time.  I think I got the tracking on the 8th and it arrived today (the 10th).

First Look

The first look was off to a good start!  I knew right away that WB would love that stuffed whatever it was.

Stork Stack’s February 2014 theme was “Animal Action” and featured animal theme toys from some of Stork Stack’s favorite brands, including North America Bear Co. and Rich Frog along with a few new brands to discover.

The Information Card (Back)

I have mentioned it before, but Stork Stack now sends their information cards electronically.  They as a link in the tracking e-mails, so if you want to peek you can and if not, you can wait and be surprised.  It should come as no shock that I always peek ;).  Here is what my February box (for WB who is 21 months) included:

~Buggy Love PureLove Spray ($7.99): I have never heard of this brand before, but I guess they have an entire line of organic cleaning products.  I tested this out on a few of WB’s toys and while I wasn’t overly thrilled by the smell (it’s not bad but it’s not amazing either) I did like the results.  It wasn’t hard to wipe off and didn’t leave any residue or anything.  I’ll be checking out more from their line.

~Rich Frog Products Bath Mitt ($4.50):  I could have sworn that I had gotten this from Stork Stack in the past, but it turns out that I received the soap sack back in August 2013, but never the mitt.  We have a few mitts, but we don’t have the dog and dogs are WB’s favorite, so that’s good.  We actually just end up using these more as puppets than actual bath mitts in the tub.

~Parragon Books “Good Morning Bluebird” ($6.99): This book is adorable!!  It’s easily one of my favorite books we’ve gotten in a subscription box.  WB and L both loves and I am guessing we’ll be reading this again tomorrow night!

~North American Bear Flatocow Animal ($17):  WB snatched this right up and ran off with it.  He’s really into stuffed animals right now so it was a good fit.  We have gotten similar (not the exact same, but similar) items from NA Bear Co. in the past though, so while WB likes this, I would have preferred something different.

~Credible Cravings Snack Bar (Mom Treat) ($3):  I am saving this for breakfast in the morning, but it’s made specifically to support the needs of pregnant and breastfeeding moms and their developing children.  Obviously others (like me) can have it too, but I wanted to point that out!

All totaled I came up with a value of $39.48 for the February 2014 Stork Stack, which is in excess of the $27.99 monthly cost of the box (less if you purchase a longer term subscription).  I enjoyed this box, but I did think it was a safe box this month because it had a few brands that have been included (and well received) in the past.

Hmm I really thought that there would be something really exciting for this box because of last months big oops. I do love the stuffed animal though!!

Unless maybe it was planned in advance and it was too late to make it a WOW box??

I want that book! It looks so cute!

      It’s adorable!

We got a similar stack. Instead of the bath mitt we got a soap holder (received one previously but can’t recall if it came from SS or CL). I would have preferred the mitt. We also go the flatpig instead of the cow. Finally, our book was different. The one you got looks cuter than ours so overall I’m a little envious your box is better!

What book did you get? I thought ours was just so cute.

We got a bunch of those peekaboo books from my sister for Christmas–my daughter loves them! However, the “plots” of the various books are almost identical, but with different animals. Whatever, not like she cares. I love the pic of WB in his jammies with the book! Also, we need to get a bath mitt. Those look fun.

I love that you called them plots! WB just looks at the pictures!

We got the same stuffed animal. Our rich frog item was a Dog Scrubber – which goes great with the dog soap sack we got a few months ago. The book is All The Families by Margaret Wise Brown – it is a nice hardcover book. I agree with the scent not being anything special for the cleaner, but I am excited that I got a chocolate flavored bar. Overall a pretty good box – nice to have usable items this month 🙂
