First Look

I hadn’t seen any spoilers for this box when I opened it and I was anxious to dig under all that paper!

Second First Look

The first look was very pink!  I wasn’t sure what to make of everything, but I did like the pink.

The Information Cards

The Holiday Housewife Box includes a newsletter with a Q&A from the Blogger of the Month (this month is the blogger is “The Girl in Pink“) and an inspirational quote, however, it does not include an information card.  Here is what was included:

~Jeweled Compact: Cute compact.  I like pink things and sparkly things, of course I think this is cute.

~Silk Cherry Blossom Body Cream: Not a brand I typically buy, but it smells good and I will use it.

~Link Bracelet: I have mixed feelings on this. It’d be cute with a charm or something on it, but as is it’s just too plain.  I like plain, but this just needs something.

~Cupcake Wraps: I don’t know that I have ever used a cupcake wrap.  I get what people do with them and it looks cute, but my boys just want to eat the cupcakes, not make them look all cute.

~Butterfly Ice Cube Tray: This isn’t exactly a silicone, but not exactly a plastic either.  I need to see if I can make crayons with this.  If not I guess I will have butterfly ice cubes or jello?

~Maxwell House Iced French Vanilla Latte: I will drink this (because I love caffeine), but I am not a big iced coffee fan. I don’t know why.  I always expect to love it, but then I drink it and I just don’t.  I like frappes and coffee, but not iced coffee.  So odd!

~Mason Jar Wine Glass: Ha.  I love this.  It’s SO bright and I love it.  This will serve me well out on the patio this summer!

I didn’t / couldn’t do a cost breakdown on this box because I couldn’t find many of the items available online.  However I wasn’t overly impressed by it for the $24.99/price.  I didn’t dislike anything in the box and I thought everything fit in well with the pink theme, but I wasn’t wowed by anything (except that pink cup).  I will be looking forward to seeing what they do for future boxes though because I like the idea behind this one!

I’m not overly impressed by anything in the box either (from your review). It all seems like pretty cheap dollar bin/craft store items. Yea they fit a “theme”, but it could have been better pulled off. I do like the idea of the box, but sometimes boxes do the quantity instead of quality.

    1. Jennifer

      Totally agree!

  2. Tanza

Everything seems kind of like stuff you could find at the dollar store or Walmart for really cheap. Definitely doesn’t seem worth $25. MAYBE $10.

    1. Jennifer

Yeah, I really like the idea, but I just wasn’t wowed!

  3. Jennifer Hodgen

I get the bracelet – they said on Facebook that they send a charm in each successive sub box! How cute is that!

    1. Jennifer

Ohhh, that makes more sense now!!!

  4. Ricki

The iced latte things are awesome. Just stir them into a glass of cold milk and…heaven! Doesn’t taste like iced coffee, so don’t let that stop you from trying it.

    1. Jennifer

      Will do!

  5. Erin B

Ummmm I need (ok want lol) that cup!! I wish I knew where to get one!

    1. Jennifer

I need to find out where it came from!

  6. Sara

I never used those cupcake wraps for cupcakes either^^ Around here, I use them either for decorating (ever tried putting a brightly colored easter egg or a christmas ornament in a cupcake wrap?), arts and crafts (they do make great little crowns and tiaras) or as a way of gift giving by arranging gift cards inside with some tissue paper. I get that it’s supposed to make your baked goods look nicer but I don’t think I ever used them for their actual purpose 🙂

    1. Jennifer

Of those are super cute ideas!!!!

  7. Sarah

The quality is definitely lacking but its a fun idea! Maybe you could made soap using that mold?

    1. Jennifer

I don’t know that I have ever made soap before?? Is it hard?

      1. Sarah

It’s super easy if you get the Melt and Pour kind from Michaels (or other craft store). It’s a great craft project since it doesn’t take long (half an hour max!). Best of all you can add your own scent (essential oils or fragrance oils) and coloring, too. You can use it as soon as its hard (about an hour) I’m all about immediate gratification 😛

  8. Beeju

Okay that wine glass is seriously adorable. I want one in a bright lime green lol

    1. Jennifer

I know right? I need to figure out where it is from!

  9. Kathy

Depending on what the bracelet is made of, it could be worth the total cost of the box. Then everything else is just a bonus. I have been looking for a sterling one just like it so I can wear all of my charms.

    1. Jennifer

I think they said it is sterling. I missed the part where you get a new charm from the box every month!!!

  10. Laura

I really dig that Mason Jar Wine Glass. I might have to investigate further on where to purchase that.

    1. Jennifer

I have been trying to look, but didn’t see anything yet!
