Ohh, I wasn’t really expecting this so soon, but my August 2014 Socialbliss Style Box is here! I just got the tracking notification for it this morning and it was waiting for me when we got back from Chicago this afternoon.
If you aren’t familiar, the Style Box by Socialbliss, is a fashion, lifestyle and accessories box. Boxes contain items which may be featured on the Socialbliss site, along with others that are emerging hot items not yet available to the public. Boxes are $47.90 ($39.95 plus $7.95 shipping) and promise a monthly value of at least $100.
Socialbliss ships via USPS Priority Mail which I absolutely love. It makes everyone’s shipments (generally) arrive at the same time which is great. It’s easy to stay unspoiled if you want to with this one since you know you don’t have to wait too long to get your box after the first person gets theirs.
I had seen a few spoilers for this month (only because I hunted some down), but as usual I was anxious to open it up and see what variations I received!
The August 2014 Socialbliss Style Box theme was “End of Summer Daze” and included the following pieces to help make your summer statement before the season ends:
~Totes Galore Laser Cut Tote ($48): Ever since I saw the spoiler for this I had been really anxious to see what color I would get! I didn’t have a preference, I just wanted to know. And the purple is gorgeous. This tote is much softer than I was expecting which is great. I thought it would be stiff, but it’s not at all. It also includes a dust bag which can be used for its intended purpose, or inside the bag as a liner to help protect your bag and items inside.
~Turquoise Necklace by Influence ($18): Totally cute. It’s small, but still really cute and I will totally wear this one.
~Double Bar Cuff Bracelet ($13): This bracelet is cute, but I feel like I have one like it already so it may end up for trade or will be gifted to a friend.
~Bare Escentuals Retractable Lip Brush ($7): This will likely end up on my trade list because I just don’t use lip brushes enough to need more than the one I already have. I am not even sure if I own more than one lip product I would even use a lip brush for? Oh and you need to put the cap on this brush to make it stay open. I thought mine was broke at first. LOL!
~The Wiser Visor Papillon Visor ($18): Why don’t hats look good on me? Because I so want them too! This isn’t actually a hat, it’s a visor, but close enough. Anyway, it just looks like I am trying way too hard. Maybe I just need a different hat attitude? This summer still has some life left in it, so I am going to give hats a go these next few weeks!
~Metallic Hex Tattoo by The Pi Collection ($4): I still want to get another (real) tattoo, but I am not too sure what I want to get or where. I might put this on the inside of my wrist to see how I would feel about having a tattoo there for a few days.
All totaled I came up with a value of $108 for the August 2014 Socialbliss Style Box! This was easily one of my favorite boxes from them lately. Even though I am going to trade or gift a few of the items I received, it included so much stuff that even if you don’t love it all, it’s still okay!

That purple tote has to be my favorite thing in the whole box. I have an unhealthy obsession with purses and tote bags…I just can’t help it! I am not going to admit how many tote bags and purses I have because it is embarrassing.
I really want the tote bag because it looks so cute.
The necklace has to be my favorite, with the bag and cuff trailing just slightly. Not sure if I could pull off the hat, but it is super cute as well.

And my advice with hats is to rock them and not even care what you look like.
I wore my big black floppy hat (from a popsugar box actually) to the airport with a maxi, mostly because it was 7am, I couldnt find a starbucks and I was grumpy and I got SO many compliments on it. Im not entirely sure why because it looked like I hated everyone, but it worked haha.
Ha!!! I am cracking up. People probably thought you were famous in a giant hat at 7am. You should have worn sunglasses inside too.
Haha I was for a while! Apparently covering your whole face with a hat and sunglasses while going through airport security is frowned upon. Who knew?! I just wanted coffee

I’m so mad. I was looking forward to this box. Mainly for the bag. I got it yesterday and there was NOTHING inside of it. Somewhere between leaving the facility and getting to my house, all the contents were gone. The post office marked it up with opened upon arrival and everything.

I like everything except for the visor. While I can appreciate it’s practicality and I even like the bow detail, I can’t get past the idea that this is something an elderly grandmother would wear while putzing around in a golf cart in her assisted living facility in South Florida… I can’t be the only person seeing that, can I?
