October 2014 Blind Surprise

Blind Surprise, who kindly sent me this package for review, is a curated gift box (1, 3 or 6-months) for that special person in your life. You select their interests and Blind Surprise does the rest and delivers it right to their door.  You can also subscribe for yourself of course.

I filled out my profile myself and Blind Surprise curated my box based on my selections. I got the same experience as any subscriber would receive for this one which is always fun.  I  love seeing what what they pick out for me because it really is a complete surprise.

The Box

Blind Surprise ships via USPS Priority Mail.  I couldn’t get into this box fast enough yesterday either.  I was trying to guess what was inside based on what it sounded like when I shook it and how much it weighed. And I had no idea what it was.

First Look

I couldn’t tell much from the first look, but I *thought* I saw something I recognized.

October 2014 Blind Surprise
The Card

Since Blind Surprise is curated based specifically on your preferences, everyone’s will be different and there is no information card.   Here is what I received:

~CHITCHATS Drink Markers ($8.69): So cute! I am going to start using these with B and see if he notices my notes to him ;).  They would work great for a parties too of course and make great conversation starters.

Chitchats

~Citrus Saw ($5.99): I thought this was just a bottle opener that looked like a saw at first, but then I realized it was an actual saw for your fruit!  You can cut (well saw) up your limes  and open your beers with only one tool.  Very smart!

~Cool Shooters ($9.99): Oddly enough I have always wanted these! I’m not really sure why because it’s not like B and I are doing shots all the time or anything (I cleared filled out the profile in a way that must have made them think I highly enjoyed drinking), but I think they are so cool. I am planning a few different things with these.  For sure frozen glasses for the boys (that will crack them up) and maybe with pudding or yogurt in them for dessert cups.  I am also wondering if I can bake these?  To make like cookie cups with them so I can pour milk in them.  It’s made out of food grade silicone, so I am guessing it would be okay right?

Cool Shooters

All totaled I came up with a value of $24.67 for the October 2014 Blind Surprise box.  Just like with my last two boxes from them I really enjoyed this one.  I do think next time I will change up my preferences a bit and maybe not select “alcohol” as one of my “Likes” in the preferences survey though.

Something like this is perfect for my fiance, he always wants a box since I get so many but doesn’t want to subscribe monthly!! I can surprise him with just one box! However, we’ll be gone the last week of this month… Would you happen to know how quickly they process and ship orders? I would hate for a package to sit on my front porch for a whole week, especially with the amount of rain we get this time of year.

Nevermind, read the FAQs… Won’t get it until after the wedding. Which is awesome! Yay!

Let me know what they pick for him!

I have those shot glass makers. I’ve made jello shooters with whipped cream for the kids with mine. I’ve baked with them a couple of times with brownie mixes. Haven’t had a problem with them yet, but I keep a tight watch on them and do a lower temp just because I am just weird like that.

The cool shooters would be awesome for jello molds! Fill them with whip cream or/and fruit!

I wonder if this will work with my husband. He’s a hard one to gift.
