It’s time for another Thursday Thoughts! If you want to participate, but have no idea what a link-up is, you can check out my explanation of it here.

~Is this week seriously almost over?  Why is it when the holidays start to get closer that time starts to fly by?  I was seriously hoping to finish up Gone Girl, but instead I have been going to bed early.  Well earlier ;).   Not a bad thing though I suppose.

~I was really hoping that these Red Velvet Oreo’s were real, but it appears they are a hoax.  Boo!  They really sound like the perfect cookie.  Cream cheese filling in a cookie?  Does such a thing exist anywhere?  Oreo or someone should get on that!

A girl can dream.
A girl can dream.

~This month has been all over the place for subscription box deliveries! Some have been early, some late, it’s just been a weird month. Hopefully it’s back to normal next month. Anyway, I am still expecting Escape MonthlyKiwi Crate, Lip Factory, Mantry, Stitch SetUrthBox and a few more boxes this week. And there are a few other boxes (Hazel Lane, Hammock Pack) that normally don’t ship till the last week of the month that should be coming next week.

~Have you heard about the new GapKids x Kate Spade and Jack Spade collaboration?  There are some adorable pieces for girls (I don’t love the boys stuff quite as much) and some really cute accessories.  I can’t find the cost of the pieces yet (which could change my thoughts on it all), but it launches on the 30th of the month.

~So I always knew about the FedEx Delivery Manager and UPS’s My Choice feature, both of which allow you to see what FedEx / UPS shipments are headed your way.  You just answer some questions to verify your address / identity and it will show you everything that they have in the system that’s enroute to you.  They rock.  Anyway, I had no idea until yesterday that USPS had one too!  Once you get signed up it shows you all packages that the Post Office is delivering to you, the tracking, estimated delivery dates, etc.  What? This is a complete game changer.

~I seem to have volunteered us to host a (last minute) trunk for Trunk-or-Treating at L’s school tomorrow night and I need some ideas on how to decorate!  There are a ton of ideas on Pinterest (sometimes Pinterest is just too much information), but they seem pretty elaborate and time consuming.  Any ideas for something that I can do that will be incredible and easy are much appreciated!

Help!
Help!

~And one last thing, I am going to be moving the Spoilers over from October to November in the next few days, so make sure to check and see what’s being updated there!

That’s it from here! What are your weekend plans?

That Gap Kids line?! LOVE IT! And that Are we there yet?! Bag?! I kinda sorta NEED to have it in my life!!

    1. Jennifer

      I NEED that bag!!!

  2. I don’t have any thoughts this morning. I moved an old iphoto library and it didn’t go well – and I didn’t realize that it was the library Aperture was using. Lost a bunch of pictures and I’m in a craptactular mood. For some reason my USPS account is a business account and I have to make a new one. BLAH.

    1. Jennifer

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to go back to bed!

  3. Nicole

I’ve been stalking the kate spade for gap line. Prices range from $20-$130, the bow dress is $60, there are some amazing satchel bags for $100, the boys camo coat is $130. I am counting down the days till release!!

    1. Jenny

Holy WOW I wanted that coat too but no way am I paying that LOL I will have to grab something from the line for my boys at least. 🙂

    2. Jennifer

That coat is a lot (although if I can get it on clearance maybe it won’t be so bad), but I so want those accessories..

      1. Nicole

The other crazy thing is that the line will only be available for two weeks! It shattered my plan of buying clearance. I have a boy & girl, my wallets going to hurt!

        1. meg

It’s Gap. I think it’s a pretty good bet that it will go on sale.

  4. Chrissy

Those FedEx & UPS trackers are so amazing, thanks for figuring it out for us! Hopefully my PS box will here today! (It showed est delivery yesterday but that didn’t happen!)

    1. Jennifer

Fingers crossed! I won’t know what I would do if they didn’t have those trackers!

We have been doing trunk or treat for the last couple of years and I found the easiest (and cheapest) way to decorate is go to the dollar store and get a cute Halloween plastic table cover and put that down first. Then find some random cute decorations and put them up over the table cover. We usually get a couple of orange and black garlands and some blow up spiders or ghosts. I don’t get too elaborate with it because you know the kids are worried about the candy and not looking at the trunks.

    1. Jennifer

That’s a good call. I was thinking maybe just white sheets, some lights and ghosts? You are right, the kids will only care about what kind of candy I have…

  6. Jenny

You are rocking my world this morning. The Kate Spade/Gap collab (I’m a Katie kindof girl ;)) and the usps tracking. I’m in overload. I love the camo jacket but no way I’ll pay the $130 for it. I kindof like the shirt with the little guy poking his head out of the pocket and the trouble shirt. I wonder what else will be offered in the collection.

    1. Jennifer

No, that is a ALOT! But I could be swayed with the accessories…..

The link I posted should show the full collection.

      1. Jenny

There isn’t much in the collection then 🙁 I want more items. LOL

        1. Jennifer

          Me too 😉

Trunk and Treat is a lot of fun. A quick fix is a hay bale, pumpkins, and garland. I’m going to set up the shipping trackers today. The Gap Kids/Spade Collabration is cute. I like the girls better then the boys and all I have is boys.

It hasn’t been a good month for shipping boxes. Wow, your Kiwi Crate is late. Ours arrived last Friday. I am still waiting on DarbySmart, Treatsie, and Petit Vour for this week.

Red velvet Oreos!!! I hope it is real.

    1. Jennifer

My annual subscription expired this month and it tried to renew automatically but was on a card that got replaced somewhere along the line due to one of those hackings!

I think it’s probably best I have just boys because when lines like this come along I would be in such big trouble.

      1. PA Anna

I almost forgot. This weekend my sister and I are going on a women’s retreat. Should be nice 🙂

  8. Jennifer

I think the Oreo’s might be real! Read the comments on 10/22 from the Verge!

    http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/22/7041017/the-red-velvet-oreo-is-a-fake-and-heres-why

“Update, October 22nd, 2014, 10:10PM ET: We have heard from numerous sources on this hot-button topic that say Nabisco plans to release the Red Velvet Oreo in February of next year (likely in time for Valentine’s Day), and the smaller package size is for sampling purposes. It’s still not conclusive evidence that they are real, but if you have your heart set on a Red Velvet Oreo, there may still be hope.

Update, October 22nd, 2014, 11:00PM ET: Another source has reached out and provided an as yet never before seen image of the Red Velvet Oreo that corroborates the earlier pictures from this week. This source says that the creme inside the Red Velvet Oreo is the standard creme, only with the “taste of that of Red Velvet icing.” They also say the cookie is indeed slightly reddish in color, but doesn’t taste any different than the standard chocolate cookie.”

  9. Erin Martin

What kind of person jokes about cookies? Some people just want to watch the world burn…

  10. Jessika

For Trunk or Treat one year I cut giant band-aids out of brown paper and made a thermometer out of card board. then I dressed up as a nurse and said my car was “Sick”. It only two me about two hours to make everything.

    1. Jennifer

      That is so cute!

  11. Kathy

There is Red Velvet Cupcake coffee creamer by Baileys, but in my opinion, is not that great. I don’t use a lot, just a splash in with my regular cream to give the coffee the flavor.

  12. Kathy

I think the candle would be my favorite item.

  13. Laura

How about a military theme for trunk or treat? Use a camouflage blanket or poncho, a few chem lights (glow sticks) and kevlar (helmet) for the pumpkin. And maybe some camo for you!
