Wantable Makeup April 2015 Subscription Box

Wantable offers four different types of subscription boxes. This box is their makeup box, which includes 4 to 5 full-sized premium makeup products, hand-picked to perfectly match your preferences. They also offer intimates, fitness and accessories boxes, again customized to your preferences.  And unlike the majority of other subscription boxes, Wantable allows you to return the box if you aren’t totally 100% happy. They just switched things up a little and now allow you to return a portion of your box!  Wantable now lists “Your Price” on the information card along with the Retail Price so you can easily determine the amount of credit you will receive if you opt to return items.  If you end up keeping your entire box, a credit of $4 will be posted to your account – making your next box $36.

The Box

Wantable ships via DHL Global Mail and took just under a week to arrive.  They are only a state over from me, but that’s how DHL seems to work.  Wantable ships at the same time each month as when you originally subscribed.  So if you subscribed at the end of the month, your box will ship at the end of the month.

The first look was pretty good!  I didn’t recognize much which I always like.

Preferences

Like I mentioned before, you can totally customize your Wantable box.  You fill out a questionnaire telling them what you Love, Like and Dislike.  You’ll get more of the things you Love, some of the things you Like and none of the things you Dislike.  It also asks about color preferences and that sort of thing.  I have had only Eyeliner as a Dislike for a while now and I have been pretty pleased with my boxes.

The Information Card

My April 2015 Wantable Makeup box included the following items:

~Lash Em Fiber Lash Extension Mascara – Black (Retail Price: $30, Your Price: $12.31): So this. I don’t really get how exactly it works, but one side (the white side) is a lash gel serum that extends your lashes and the other side is a black mascara. I didn’t think the mascara was anything to write home about (I thought it was a tad clumpy), but the serum totally works. I was amazed. It really looked like I had false lashes on. I wish this was clear so I could just wear it alone!

~Bodyography Nail Lacquer (Fancy Free) (Retail Price: $8.50, Your Price: $3.49): This is quite a pretty color and perfect for Spring.  And I do love nail polish, so I am happy.

~Cara Cosmetics Skin Shimmer (Electra) (Retail Price: $35.98, Your Price $14.76): This reminds me of Benefit Sunbeam.  It’s shimmery and makes your skin glow.  I’m not thrilled with the little pallet applicator, but I’ll use a sponge and it will be just fine.

~yourMinerals Swedish Winter Highlighter (Retail Price: $23, Your Price: $9.44): I actually received this same shade in the Winter FabFitFun box (and liked it) so I will likely be passing this one along to a friend.

All totaled I came up with a value of $97.48 for the April 2015 Wantable makeup box.  I really really liked this box and feel like they did a great job with the selections!

Do you subscribe to Wantable?  If so, what’d you get in your box (makeup or accessories or intimates or fitness) this month? And if you don’t subscribe, what are you waiting for? There is no risk involved so why not?

How/where do you use skin shimmer? And I guess it just makes you shimmery?

I am new to the beauty box / subscriptions world (already addicted). Is it weird that I love spending hours reading reviews on various blogs? I’m just fascinated!!

I found out it all existed in Feb and decided to start with the lower priced Birchbox & Ipsy – so I got my first box & bag 2-3 weeks ago – even though I was also really interested in Wantable and Glossybox. I love that Wantable is so customizable! I haven’t signed up yet bc of the price plus I never return things. Also, I like the idea of sample sizes so I can try things out and not worry about wasting a full size if I don’t like it. Does Wantable ever have great deals like free first box or even 50% off? If I saw that, I would definitely take the plunge! (Like I just did with Julep).

Can I ask a personal question? How do you afford all these boxes?? Do you get a lot free? Do you truly use them in place of buying these types of products so it’s just the money you would have budgeted for it anyway? Just curious! You don’t have to answer. 🙂

I’ll start with the last question first! I get lots of boxes sent to me to review so no, I don’t pay for them all. I always disclose it in my blog post that I got it free – it’s right at the top of this one.

As for skin shimmer, you can use it anywhere! I like a little on the cheeks!

Wantable does sometimes offer 50% off deals. Sign up for their e-mails!! I’ve seen stuff pop-up on Facebook as well.

And no, I don’t think it is weird! I like to look at everyone’s subscription pictures on Instagram just to see how they arranged the items for the pictures which is probably weird.

I really like Wantable too! I decided to try to go every other month and pick from the 3 – this month is Intimates. I like that you can skip months. And their new return policy is nice – I usually just kept the box if something didn’t work because there was always something I wanted to keep.
