BarkBox August 2015 Subscription Box – “Summer Block Party” + Coupon Code

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand selected and approved by Scout (the dog), head product tester for BarkBox. All treats included in the boxes are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand, so you can be assured that your pet is only getting safe, high-quality items. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet (I get the Small box for the furries) and you can add an additional toy to your box for an extra $9/month. We have been getting BarkBox for ages and have always been satisfied with them.

The Box

BarkBox ships via DHL Global Mail (starts out with DHL and is delivered by the Post Office) and took just a few days to arrive this month. I generally expect it to arrive on or around the 20th of the month.

First Look

Unlike some of BarkBox’s boxes, I couldn’t tell what the theme of this one was when I opened it up.  It looked cute though.

The Information Card

The August 2015 BarkBox theme was “Summer Block Party” and my box (for “Small” dogs) included the following:

~Kettle Creek Farms Chicken Flavor Beastie Bars ($3): Beastie Bars contain classic, wholesome ingredients like chicken, peas, carrots, apples and bananas. I could crack it in half for the dogs to share, but I think my brothers three dogs would appreciate it more.

~Plato Pet Treats Small Bites Chicken ($6.99): These are awesome treats for the dogs.  They are free of grain, soy, wheat, corn, fillers and gluten.  They are perfect for my dogs who like small and chewy treats.

~Fruitables Skinny Minis Watermelon ($5.49): Another perfect treat for my dogs!  They are gluten-free and only have two calories per treat.  They are also chewy and soft and actually smell pretty good (for being a dog treat).

~Harry Barker Rope Fire Hydrant ($10): We love rope toys around here.  There’s an end for Buddy and one for WB.  Buddy is way stronger than WB and could easily pull the toy away from him, but he doesn’t.  He’s so sweet with him and is just thrilled he’s got someone to play with.

~Pet Qwerks Snow Cone ($7): I feel like we may have this already (I wouldn’t forget this cute little thing), but a spare is cool!  It’s just so cute!

All totaled I came up with a value of $32.48 for the August 2015 BarkBox.  I wasn’t wowed by this one, but I did think it the items were cute and the treats were great!
