First Look

I wasn’t sure what to think of this first look.  It was different than any other For the Faithful first looks that’s for sure.

The Information Card

The July 2015 For the Faithful included the following items:

~Renewed Spirit Body Lotion & Shower Gel ($10/each): The packaging on these is beautiful and would make fabulous gifts.  The Moonlight Orchid scent is a bit much for me, so I am going to do just that – gift them to a friend.  The packaging and the bottles themselves have Psalm 51:10 printed on them.

~Renewed Spirit Lip Balm (~$2): I thought the Moonlight Orchid scent was much nicer in a lip balm than it was in the shower gel / body lotion.  It just wasn’t “as much” if that makes sense.  This also has Psalm 51:10 printed on it, but it’s from the King James Version, so it’s slightly different.

~Set of Hair Accessories (~$7): These are probably better suited for a younger girl, but I will use those hair ties.  I don’t think you can ever have enough.

All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $34 for the July 2015 For the Faithful.  I have to say, I wasn’t in love with this one.  I know their boxes are geared towards families, but if you don’t have a younger daughter / niece, etc. I don’t know if you’d be overly excited by this one.  I should mention though, one of their boxes had a Thomas the train DVD and train in it and that was obviously age specific as well.

Well, somehow I messed up making my post, so I hope this doesn’t duplicate!

You were a lot kinder in your review than I would have been! This was my first month of a 3 month subscription. I was also going to send a box to a family member. I would have been mortified if they received this box. I have been back and forth on ordering this subscription, but have been feeling like I need to connect a little more with my faith so when the coupon came along I finally bit.

The best things in this box are the containers that hold the body wash and lotion. However, I find that the lotion and wash are really low low end drug store stuff (even $1 store quality) as are the other items. I’m 50 years old and neon hair accessories are just not for me. Nor are rubber bracelets. Neither of these items has anything “faith” based to them except for quotes on the packaging which get thrown away. Luckily I can give the hair doodads and bracelets to my 5 year old. Even a bracelet with WWJD or something would have been better. I also thought the lip balm was pretty much a $1 store item.

I know they have included kids’ items in other boxes, but they also include items for the intended recipient. I suppose they felt the bath wash and lotion were for adults, but what if the subscriber was male like you said?

I am hoping that this was just a really off month. I am wondering if they got bombarded by people signing up for the discount and sent this poor quality box in response?

And yes, I do understand that I’m not being very Christian by complaining about a Christian themed box!
