First Look

Beauty Box 5 is one box that I never know what to expect from.  Some months they hit it out of the park and other months are not so fabulous.

The Information Card

The November 2015 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Your Basics Never Have to Be Boring” and included the following items:

~La Fresh good day, good moisturizer (0.5oz / 15g) ($13.99): Wow! I didn’t think this sample was going to be $13.99! I liked it well enough, but I didn’t think it was anything to write home about.

~Kaunis Facial Mask ($14.95): This mask is cruelty-free and contains no GMOs, harsh preservatives, artificial fragrances or colors, parabens, sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. It’s a sheet mask and it works to leave your skin silky and glowing.  I am kind of masked out right now so I am going to give this to my sister-in-law or cousin to try.

~Altchek MD Eye Gel Pads (Set of 2) ($4): While I do like these and think they work, you have to leave them on for 30 minutes.  If I had 30 minutes to depuff my eyes, they probably wouldn’t be puffy in the first place you know?  But that aside, they do work and I did feel refreshed.

~MOODmatcher Luxe Twist Stick ($8): This is the grown-up version of mood lipstick.  It’s orange, but it adjusts in color based on the heat (that’s my guess) of your lips.  It was hot pink on my hand and about the same on my lips. It’s fun, but you gotta be okay with not knowing exactly what color you will be getting every time you apply.

~The All Natural Face Vegan Matte Cream Lip & Cheek Color in Dusky Rose ($5.75): This can be used on both your lips and cheeks so it’s a grey item for traveling.  The information card specifies that the product is “Dusky Rose” so I am assuming that all subscribers received this same shade?

All totaled the November 2015 Beauty Box 5 had a value of $46.69.  That is a great value for Beauty Box 5, but I just wasn’t feeling this month for some reason?

I really liked this month’s mood changing lipstick. It made my lips, the first day I tried it, red. And it stayed on all night long.
