Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code It’s kind of a dreary day around here so we decided to work on this month’s Koala Crate. At the same time my 3 year-old and I worked on this one, my 7 year-old worked on this month’s Kiwi Crate.
Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code

Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code The February 2016 Koala Crate theme was “Rainforest” and included three projects – “butterfly puppet”, “musical rainstick” and “balancing tree game”.

Project #1 – “Butterfly Puppet”

Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code The first project in the box was “Butterfly Puppet” and included all the materials to create a caterpillar friend that transforms into a butterfly. It’s low on the messiness scale, medium on the grownup involvement scale and involved “creating” and “discovering”.
Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code W (my 3 year-old) did all of the decorating on this one on his own. I think he did amazing! He was able to peel off all the felt stickers on his own and knew exactly where he wanted to put everything.
Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code We flipped this inside out and decorated the caterpillar inside as well. I forgot to take a picture of it, but we used black and white felt stickers with and googly eyes.

Project #2 – “Musical Rainstick”

Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code The second project in the crate was “Musical Rainstick”. This project allowed you to crate the soft sound of falling rain with a fun musical instrument. The project was low on the messiness scale, medium on the grownup involvement scale and involved “moving – fine” and “creating”.

Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code I vaguely recall doing a very similar Kiwi Crate project with L a few years back. All we need to do with this one was decorate the outside of the tube with stickers and then place the tube insert inside along with the wooden beads. It makes such a cool noise and I personally thought it was super calming.

Project #3 – “Balancing Tree Game”

Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code W loved this one! He couldn’t get enough of picking up the pom pons with the tweezers. Getting them to stack on the tree wasn’t the easiest thing to do, but he still loved it.

Koala Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code As usual, the box also contained an “imagine!” magazine. It has puzzles, stories, games and other project idea relating to this month’s theme.

What do you think of Koala Crate? I love that Kiwi Crate branched out into some different ages groups because this one is just right for W.  If you are interested in subscribing you can sign up here and use coupon code “SBR50” to save 50% off your first month.

We didn’t receive this one…instead, we received “Cars & Transportation”. I wonder why?? I was looking forward to getting that butterfly for my little girl. Do they not always send the same theme to everyone??? As always, I enjoy reading your posts! 🙂

I know that one is an “older” one, but I have actually never received it!!!
