This box looked pretty good.

The May 2016 Orange Glad box contained the following items:

~QUIN Candy Dreams Come Chew: These pop up in subscription boxes here and there and are always good.  They come in flavors like cherry, strawberry, tangerine, lemon, fruit punch and pineapple + coconut and are a chewy soft candy with a lot of flavor.

~Rustic Bakery Espresso Chocolate Chip Shortbread: These are flavored with San Francisco’s Ritual Roasters espresso coffee and Callebaut dark chocolate chips and have a “sanding sugar finish”.  I thought this was going to knock my socks off, but it really didn’t.  I didn’t think it had enough buttery flavor in the shortbread?  I mean it was good, but not amazing.

~Annie B’s Caramels: Annie B’s caramels are delicious!  They are slow-cooked in large copper kettles and were actually on Oprah’s favorite things list in 2014.  They are soft and creamy and so flavorful.

~Annie B’s Handmade Popcorn (Original Caramel): If you like caramel popcorn I would guess that you’ll love this. I did! It’s handcrafted in small batches and is made-to-order so it’s always fresh.

~Carolina Girl Cooks Rose Tea Cookies: These cookies are made with the finest dried, edible rose petals and delicate rose water. They are certainly different and a fun twist on shortbread cookies, but they aren’t something I would seek out.

~Price Increase: The box also contained a letter detailing some changes that Orange Glad is making.  Beginning in June 2016, boxes will increase from $19/month to $25/month.  Current subscribers will be grandfathered in and will only see an increase to $22/month.  If you opt for the Double Box, prices will increase to $40/month (current subscribers will pay $37/month.

I am not overly excited about the large price increase but plan to keep my subscription for another month or two to see if I can see any changes.  The letter doesn’t make it seem like they will be adding more snacks, but I am hoping I can see some sort of change?

This was my first box. I had mentioned before how displeased I was at paying 2 months out before getting a box, then seeing you had posted about the price increase (which I didn’t receive). I emailed them about it. Took a very long time to get a response. They pretty much said they’d be happy to cancel my account. Made to attempt to keep me as a customer. They also said they’d send out tracking once it shipped – they didn’t. You can’t log in to your account on their website – each week saying it will be up & running the following week.

I didn’t hate this box. I’m not a candy person, so that’s a bummer for me. I agree with what you said, I’d like to see how the price increase changes the box.

I will say, their insert is way over-the-top. If they’re trying to cut costs, yet raise our prices, perhaps they can do away with the expensive booklet. I mean, the time and money they put into that is nuts. A single postcard list will do.
