The July 2016 Snakku box included the following items:

~Wasabi Ranch Snow Pea Crisps: I think these are the exact same ones we have in the States, except with different packing.  If anything, these are better.  They aren’t crazy hot, but they have a great flavor.

~Hato Sabure: These are butter cookies.  They aren’t quite like butter cookies in the US – they are lighter.  But very very good.

~Bakauke Aonori:These are rice crackers covered in “Aomori” which is a blue seaweed.  Honesty if I didn’t read that they were seaweed, I would never have known.  I didn’t find them to be super flavorful, but they were okay.

~Fukkura Okoge: How do you think you say the name of these?  LOL!!  They are “rice grain sense glazed lightly with soy sauce then baked in a clay kiln”.  They were play.  Again, not something I would go out of my way to find.
Snakku July 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Moringa Cookie: These cookies are green (like Christmas cookie green)!  They have a green tea flavor with a Hokkaido red bean cream inside.  They were interesting.  Not good, not bag – interesting.
Snakku July 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Honey Apple Pie: These were delicious.  They are flaky apple pie and honey flavored cookies.

~Bourbon Baum Rolls: Hmm.  This is a “vanilla glazed mini baumkuchen roll”.  I almost felt like I should be sculpting it into something. Once I got past the texture, I did find them to be tasty.

~Kurumiko and Kintsuba: Kurumiko (the one with the squirrel on it) is a caramel and chestnut snack and is amazing.  Now, let’s talk about the Kintsuba.  That’s the other one.  According to the information card it’s a red bean paste wrapped in a thinly stretched flour dough and then baked on a copper plate to give it it’s shape.  I just can’t though.  It looks so unattractive and I am scared. LOL!  If you have tried this, tell me if I am missing out!

~Kamakura Hydrangea Cookie: These cookies are made out of hydrangea essence. They have a light floral taste and, while for sure a new taste for me, I enjoyed trying them.
Snakku July 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Flower’s Kiss Candy: These are creamy apricot-plum hard candies infused with flower essence.  I have no idea if the different packaging means they taste different, but I thought they were all the same.

Random question…what were the pens you got from Target that we colorful that you loved? I went yesterday to buy pens and don’t like the ones I ended up getting 🙂

They are pronounced ?Foo-kur-ah oh-koh-gay? ? more or less. Not the other F word. 😛

The Kintsuba are really tasty ? red bean paste doesn?t taste like what you would think (ie Mexican-style beans). It?s just a sweet taste, it?s more of a texture thing that people either love or hate.
