Nerd Block Shutting Down?

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

It’s not official, but it looks like Nerd Block may be closing their doors.  The Nerd Block site is down (and now mentions maintenance is happening on “Fan Blocks”). There is chatter on Reddit and the Nerd Block facebook page about it as well.  MSA has also posted the news.

Again, nothing is official, but if you are a subscriber and are uncomfortable waiting to see what happens (and aren’t getting a response from Nerd Block), you may want to contact your bank / credit card about a chargeback.

This seems like bad advice. A chargeback is designed to stop fraudulent payment – and it sounds like this was an accidental billing they are correcting.

Chargebacks can significantly impact a merchant’s ability to do business, so they should be a last resort. I always advocate for contacting the merchant first!

Those who had prepaid subscription boxes, like me (Horror Box), lost a lot. We prepaid for a year but it’s been more than 120 days so the credit card company can’t do anything. They won’t respond to ANY emails and as a customer I have no recourse. Makes me weary to try another sub box I am interested in that is similarly themed.
