The information card this month featured the “Elements of Beauty”.  It’s basically a periodic table of ingredients used in beauty products.   The table notes: Ingredient (Coconut Oil), Found In (serums) and Best For (anti-aging & antioxidants).

Play! by Sephora Review - August 2017
The August 2017 Play! by Sephora theme is “Makeup Geek” and included the following items:

~beautyblender micro.mini ($9): I had no idea that beautyblender’s have been around for 15 years!  Wow!  I love my big beautyblender; the minis are great for smaller parts of the face (around your nose, inner eye, chin, etc.).  You wet it, squeeze out excess liquid and then use to apply makeup.  Makes your makeup easier to apply and you waste less product with this.

~Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist (1.4 fl.oz.) ($8.75): This is a lightweight mist that adds volume and texture.  I applied it after I got out of the shower and let my hair airdry instead of blow-drying it and it still helped with volume.  It smells good and didn’t leave my hair all crunchy either.

~Korres Golden Krocus Ageless Saffron Elixir Serum (0.14fl.oz) ($13.58): This antioxidant-rich serum reduced the appearance of fine lines.  It’s to be applied in the morning and at night before using your favorite moisturizer.  It’s formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates and works for all skin types.  The smell is a little strong, but maybe I can get used to it?

~Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in Shell (.04oz) ($7.36):  I found this easy to use and good for little spot fixes.  I used my finger to blend it in, but a brush would work as well.

Play! by Sephora Review - August 2017

~Burberry My Burberry Black (2mL) ($4.80): Every Sephora PLAY! box includes a “Perfume Pick, It may” and mine was My Burberry Black this month.  It has notes of Sun-drenched Jasmine, Peach Nectar, Candied Rose and Amber Patchouli.  I found it to be too strong for me.  It may, be a better fit for me in the winter?

~Clinique HIM Dual-Ended High Impact Mascara & Primer Duo (0.53oz) ($8): Not flaking, went on smoothly and made my lashes look great.  The primer dried quickly, so there was no waiting to apply the mascara (this is key for me).

All totaled I came up with a value of $51.49 for the August 2017 Play! by Sephora.  What a fantastic value!  I also felt like this month’s box fit my profile quite well!

I totally have box envy. Mine was okay, I got the same Beauty Blender,Mascara and Foundation, but I wanted to try that Golden Krocus Elixir… I got Lancer Face Polish instead… Oh well,I guess I can ask for a Sample in Sephora stores.
