This week I am sharing my favorite fast-food places. Spare me the lecture that fast food is bad for you. I know. I think maybe that’s why it tastes so so yummy!
Of all the fast-food places, I think McDonald’s is the one that gets the most, well, crap from the media. I personally think it’s delicious and we probably go there the most. Our local McDonald’s sells Happy Meals for $1.99 on Tuesday nights. Chicken nuggets or a hamburger, apples & caramel, milk and a toy for less than $2?? Can’t beat it! And their fountain coke is like no other. After a rough night of drinking, I have been cured by many a runs thru the McDonald’s drive-thru to grab a coke!
Oh how I love In-N-Out Burger. The menu consists of like 4 items and that’s really all they need. Hamburger, cheeseburger, fries and shakes. That’s it! The only problem is that we don’t have an In-N-Out Burger anywhere near us. They are only on the west coast, which I think is so unfair. They get great weather and In-N-Out?? Every time I am even remotely close to one, I go! My entire immediate family does the same.
I am not a fan of Tim Hortons lunch menu (they always seem to burn it or somehow screw it up), but I do love their breakfast stuff! The B.E.L.T. (minus the B) and the chocolate chip muffins are my favorites. My son goes crazy for the TimBits and likes the “white ones” (i.e. powdered) the best. My dogs enjoy TimBits too! And they use real plates if you eat inside which makes it less fast-food’ish and more coffee shop’ish.
I know I am not the only Chipotle lover out there. What’s not to love about eating a burrito that is almost as big as your head? Chipotle is another one of those places with a limited menu. And you know what, it works. Sometimes you just don’t need so many choices. It is worlds away from other Mexican fast-food places (Taco Bell)
and they really care about where they get their food and how the animals are cared for.
I have a love-hate relationship with Subway. I love their food and hate the majority of their employees. Maybe it’s just my local subway, but the employees are always too busy filling the containers and making bread to actually wait on people. Or they are just talking to each other instead of helping their growing line. But I totally love their sandwiches. I always get the same thing, but I appreciate the different options, breads, etc. And while I would never try the Jared diet (and actually don’t even like Jared), I do love that they advertise calorie counts and make recommendations for healthy eating, etc.
So what are your favorite fast food places? Anything I am missing?
