It seems like the latest craze (in alcohol anyways) is skinny margaritas. We all know that Bethenny has her Skinny Girl brand, but Chi-Chi’s and Jose Cuervo also have their own versions of the skinny margarita. I sampled the Cuervo at the liquor store a few weeks ago (they seriously give out samples) and it is the best of the bunch (I think anyways), but they didn’t have any for sale yet :(. So I picked up a bottle of Skinny Girl and a bottle of Chi-Chi’s Skinny Margarita and decided to have B do a blind taste test.
B is more of a mojito guy and has been drinking Grey Goose with a lime wedge lately (he likes to save on calories too), but he’s always up for a taste test(*).
First off was “A” (Chi-Chi’s). B made a nasty face after he tried this one.
But he made an even worse face after he tested “B” (Skinny Girl). He declared that it tasted only like liquor and that it had no other flavor.
So he declared A (Chi-Chi’s) the winner!
I hope that we can secure a bottle of Jose Cuervo’s Skinny Margarita for a true taste test! I am pretty sure that it would win. As for me, I am a fan of the Skinny Girl. But I think it’s because I like Bethenny and I love her show. And because my stomach hurts every time I think of Chi-Chi’s. Not because of the Hepatitis A issues, but just because it always made me sick after eating it in college. They did make a killer frozen margarita though. But who doesn’t?
