Although L was feeling much better, we still pretty much just laid low this weekend. We played a lot of games, including tons of Candyland. Tons. We also like Lucky Ducks, Chutes and Ladders, Elefun and Hi Ho Cherry-O. L used to cheat at all board games, but he is getting way better. Although, he still usually wins. I don’t get how he wins at Candyland like every time, but he does. I think it makes B mad that he gets beat in a game of chance every time.
L and I spent yesterday afternoon at my parents (aka Nana and Papa) where L played (he SOOOO needed to get out of the house and to play at someone else’s house) and I attempted my button initial monogram. Pinterest FAIL! I don’t get how people get the buttons to all line up perfectly within the letter outlines? And I couldn’t find a good letter stencil to use, so I had to make do with the best one I could find, which turned out to be way too small. Oh well, I tried! It’s off to Etsy to let someone else make this for me. Maybe when I have a “good” one in front of me, I can steal some tips and learn to make it myself? And no, B’s not out of town. He spent the afternoon at AutoRama with some friends.
I also snuck a solo trip to Target in. I was hoping to find some cute St. Patrick’s Day stuff, but no luck. I did find a Valentine’s Nordic Ware Heart Pancake Pan, which wouldn’t scan at the register, but the lovely cashier rang up as $2.50 for me (90% off of $25). I love when they will sell you things that scan INF. Some Target stores won’t. So dumb. Don’t you want my money?
I realized this weekend that we haven’t done too much to get ready for the baby. Yeah, I made curtains and ordered stuff off Etsy, but this weekend the infant car seat / bases were locate and cleaned. And I was pleased that the infant car seat does not expire until 2014! I had no idea they even expired until I read some article a few days ago. Where have I been?? I also washed / cleaned the bouncy seat(s) and the swings. I feel a tad more prepared now, but I suppose I also need to wash the crib bedding an, umm, some clothes.
OMG, I almost forgot the best part of the weekend. L slept in until 9:30am on Sunday. This is unheard of for him. Unheard of. It was amazing. B and I were up around 8:45 and we couldn’t believe he was still slumbering away. Crazy. Those black-out shades we got him are amazing. Plus, I am sure he needed to catch up on some sleep from a new of the crazy nights we had when he didn’t sleep too much. I know he is for sure catching up on his eating. He needed a midnight snack (cereal and yogurt) last night. He happily ate it at the kitchen table and then ran back off to bed. B and I were cracking up when he came out of his room asking for a snack.
All in all, it was a pretty dull weekend around here. But that’s okay, dull is often good. What’d you do this weekend?
