Ohh, what a weekend! Seriously, is it really March here? Because it feels more like May / June outside. It’s amazing. Sleeping with the windows open is a special treat in Michigan in March and we are taking total advantage. Here’s what we did this weekend:
Friday:
For some reason, by the time Monday rolls around, I can never recall what we did on Friday? B didn’t get home from Colorado until Saturday, so it was just L and I (and the furries) on Friday night. All I recall doing is playing catch outside with L and then spending the evening playing choo-choos (what else?). Oh, wait, I also recall someone eating two yogurts (adult size) before he went to bed and then getting up an hour or so later and saying he was still hungry. So he had more yogurt. I swear, he can pack away the food. And after he went to bed, I stayed up and watched college basketball until my eyes wouldn’t stay open anymore. The madness on Friday was amazing and I loved every minute of it.
Saturday:
L and I slept in until around 8:30am (LOVE IT) and then we did some chores around the house before heading over to my parents house. In case you missed my post, my mom and I made Easter Eggs Wreaths on Saturday. L divided his time between helping us and playing outside with my dad (aka Papa). Ohh, and in the middle of wreath making, we got to see the cutest twins ever. 6 weeks old and so sweet! Thanks Lauren for letting me snuggle them! Oh, and are they identical? ha,ha,ha (they are boy-girl twins). After wreath making (I am still in awe of how amazing they both turned out), L and I headed home and got a few things done before B got home. We were both excited to see him. But not as excited as the dogs were. They totally adore B. We had dinner, played Candyland and that was about it?
Sunday:
Sunday was so much fun. After breakfast, all of the boys (B, L, Baxter and Buddy) went outside while I folded laundry (I only do laundry once a week, so it’s a project) and took a shower in peace. I headed outside to look for them just as they were coming in the garage. L wanted to stay outside, so I headed to the backyard with him so he could play in the sandbox while I sat in the sun and relaxed. In March. In Michigan. I talked B into coming out and sitting with me, which was even better. Baxter just layed in the grass while Buddy (with B’s help) killed a few mice. He was born to hunt that dog. We knew it would be hard to talk L into going inside for lunch, so we decided to have a picnic at a local park. We ran to the store to get supplies and then spent a few hours at the park eating lunch, feeding the ducks, taking a nice walk and of course, playing!!!! We made it home to watch some of the Michigan State game (I don’t care how ugly the game was, it was still a win!) and for B to go on a run. And then L headed back outside to assist B with some chores, while I gave Buddy a bath. He was SO filthy from playing outside early. Ick. We went to the local outdoor mall for dinner (B and I both were in need of guacamole and chips) and it’s always nice to walk around the mall on a beautiful day. We came home, bs’ed with the neighbors (who have just now learned I am pregnant*), played a few games (Candyland and Chutes and Ladders) and called it a day.
It was such a good weekend. I still cannot even get over how beautiful the weather is here. And it’s supposed to be near 80 degrees this week. I think the great weather is going to be over by the weekend, but trust me, we are taking full advantage of it while it is here!
(*)I have no idea how they didn’t notice before. No idea.
