Great Ideas!

Pinterest (aka the biggest time suck ever) is full of great ideas. I thought I would share a few of my favorites:

Emergency Binder: I LOVE this idea. I pretty much have all my important documents stored together, but I don’t have them as organized as I would like. The binder idea is perfect and I am ashamed I didn’t think of it myself. I really like the idea of having all my account numbers, passwords, etc. stored in one place. And important phone numbers. If I lost all my contact information on my iPhone, I’d be SO lost. You can click the picture above to take you to one example of how to put together your binder, or you can click here. I need to hurry up with this blog post so I can get started!

Magazine File Hair Dryer Storage: I found this idea on Pinterest awhile back and did it right away (and posted about it on my blog – that’s my picture above). It has gotten hundreds and hundreds of repins and likes, so I thought I would share it again. I wish I knew who I got the original idea from because I would totally give them credit, but I don’t :(. This idea had made my bathroom cabinets much more organized. I used to get so annoyed pulling my hair dryer out of the drawer and having the cords get tangled in everything. Not anymore!! In case you are wondering, I got the magazine files at IKEA.

Stain Remover: I didn’t steal this idea from Pinterest (like the rest of the ideas here), but I am assuming someone else had this idea long before I ever did. With a new baby and a messy (almost) 4 year old, there are a lot of stains happening here. And once I throw clothes in the hampers, I never really look at them again. I separate and wash. So basically I never tried to get the stains out. I realized after W was born that if I left a bottle of spot cleaner by the hampers, I could just spray them as I was throwing them in the hamper. Duh. Why didn’t I think of this ages ago?? Now every hamper in our house has a bottle of stain remover right by it. Stains be gone!

Baby Toys in the Dishwasher: This is another “duh, why didn’t I think of that sooner” one. When L was a baby, I washed all of his toys by hand. I stumbled upon a picture on Pinterest of baby toys in a dishwasher and was all DUH! My brother claims he has been doing it for years with dog toys too. Umm, why didn’t anyone share this with me? So just in case anyone else has been living under a rock like I was, I am sharing a picture of how I cleaned all of L’s old baby toys for W! So much easier!

What great ideas have you seen lately? I can’t wait to hear!

Best idea I ever received was one that would benefit my son.
I was trying to teach him emergency phone numbers and the families phone numbers. Just buy a small handheld photo album. Take a picture of the family (i.e. granparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) and on the other side type the telephone number up and put it in- my son learned numbers far before he learned his words so it helped him when he was about 3-4 years old. For fire and police find a picture of a fire truck or policeman and put it in under 911. He loved that book until he was 6 years old!
