Weekend Recap Ramblings

Ahhh, the long awaited weekend of nothing came and went. And it was nice to just stay home and do nothing. Well, nothing that required us to be anywhere at a certain time anyways.

~I tried to talk B into having an at home date night with me on Saturday, but for some reason he thought going to the bar would be way more fun than watching Magic Mike. Umm, I think not. Channing Tatum is my new boyfriend. Although, it’s possible that he’s too old for me? Whatever. I’m gong to make an exception for him.  B missed out. Big time. His loss. Not mine. I might have to buy this dvd. Or maybe just get a poster for my wall?

~So I was playing “battle” (i.e. shoot each other with Toy Story guns) with L over the weekend.  During the battle I was having some trouble with my weapon and had to check on it. As I was checking on it, I shot myself in the eye. Yeah, I poked my eye out. With a Toy Story Woody air gun. At close range. And it hurt. I’m lucky I can still see. Ha! B was playing too and was all, did you just shoot yourself? Umm yeah and don’t make fun of me.

~Speaking of B, he made chili this weekend. However instead of 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, he used 3 TABLESPOONS. Oops. Needless to say it was a tad on the spicy side. Since mild salsa is too much for me, this about did me in!  It was good though and B loved it.  Next time he makes chili I am supervising the measuring.  At least he warned me about what happened!

~L declared Saturday to be cartoon / pajama day. After assisting B in fixing the speaker in the car and taking my car to the car wash (L loves the car wash), he did some block painting and then turned cartoons on. Went from the pajamas he slept in to fresh pajamas to sleep in. Sometimes we all need a day like that. I certainly could use a pj / SATC marathon day! Oh, there was a visit from one of B’s friends and his son mixed in there, which L loved.

~Like I mentioned yesterday, I hit up with the Target Halloween clearance.  But I also found some super fun non-clearance items while there, including the cutest chevron baby blankets and a mustache long sleeved onesie.  I bought both the grey & white and black & white blankets, thinking I’d end up returning one, but I love them both and can’t bring myself to part with either.

~In addition to going to Target, my mom and I went to the casino yesterday.  It was her idea, not mine.  No really, it was.  And who am I to say no to a morning of shopping and gambling?  Not me!  My favorite SATC slot machine was calling my name and rewarded me for being irresponsible and spending $4/spin.  Between the casino and shopping, I broke even ;).  Which to me is a HUGE win.

~And my sweet WB was totally unaffected by his 6 month shots (he got them Friday).  If anything, they made him hungrier than normal.  Hopefully this is a trend that sticks around!

What’d you do this weekend?  I want to hear all about it!

Those are some really cute baby blankets. Nathaniel might need one. Mason might need one too since he likes to haul his blanket all over.

LOVE the blankets! I can’t find them online 🙁 Do you mind sharing the size of them and the price? I assume you found them in the baby section. I might just have to have one 😉

They were $18/each and I did find them in the baby section. On an end cap. I will measure for you ASAP!

Hi, any chance you would want to sell the gray chevron blanket? My daughter also has that blanket and hers is falling apart due to too much love and lots of washing 🙂

    Thanks, Lindsey

A few people have actually asked that! I think we are going to keep it though. Sorry ;(

I have the strangest question ever, but do you still have the black and white chevron blanket/does your little one use it?! My five year old had this exact blanket for his entire life and brought it with him EVERYWHERE, this past week, he brought it with him to the hospital for an EEG (he?s an epileptic) and we lost it. He?s absolutely heartbroken and won?t even sleep on his own without it. I feel so guilty and have been torn up about it searching the web for a replica but they just don?t come close. I assume you wouldn?t want to part with it if you do, indeed, still have it. But if for any reason you do… I?d honestly be willing to pay whatever. Im so sorry this is so forward and abrupt, us Moma?s will do just about anything for our kids. 🙁 <3
