December ipsy Glam Bag

My December ipsy Glam Bag bag just arrived and I am really pleased this month.  Usually I am just so-so, but I like lots of things in here this month.  I still like it less than like Birchbox though.  Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a great value and includes lots of great goodies. It’s just not the monthly subscription for me you know? I mentioned in my last ipsy review that I didn’t know what I was going to do with all these little make-up bags and a few of you mentioned stuffing them with samples and donating them to a local woman’s shelter. I LOVE that idea and plan to do it this holiday season!

ipsy doesn’t come in a box, so I can’t do a “first look” picture like I usually do (you try shoving a camera in an envelope), but I really like the bag envelope. It’s fun and cute brightens up my mailbox!

The pink envelope

Since ipsy has online videos about how to use each of the products, they don’t do a true information card explaining everything.  Instead, their card tells you what each of the products is and lets you know what the discount that month is!

The “information” card

Okay, now on to the good part, here’s what was inside the pink bag ;).

~Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($14.25): I’m not sure how many eye pencils normal people go through (the one we got last month is still sitting in its box), but I just cannot handle a new one every month! That said, this looks cool and gets great reviews on Sephora, so I suppose I will give it a try?

~Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes ($29): I do love the idea of primer, so I am interested in checking this out. I’ve never gotten a primer in any of my sample bags / subscription boxes, so this was a welcome addition this month! Since I am not super into make-up these days, I doubt I would ever buy a primer, but I am pretty sure I bought some in the past and liked it.

~NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Pearl Eye Shadow ($3): I actually love this. It’s fun and perfect for the holidays. I got “Mink Pearl”, but they sent out lots of different colors, which all looked pretty great. I think part of the reason why I love this is that it’s not expensive and I won’t feel badly using it only a few times.

NYX Loose Pearl Shadow

~Mai Couture Highlighter Papier ($7): I’ll admit it, I had to GTS to see what exactly this stuff was and what it does. I thought it was some sort of blotting paper with a fancy name? Not even close. Their website says “Add radiance and glow to desired areas of face and body. This shimmer highlighter paper will add luminosity to any dull skin.” Very interesting. I will for sure try this out just to see exactly what it does you know?

~Be A Bombshell Lip Gloss ($14). I do love me some lip gloss, so will be a throw in my purse kind and use when I’m on the go kind of thing. I *think* everyone got the same shade (Hot Mess) and I am happy about that because I saw a sickly pink color on their website and I am beyond thrilled I didn’t get that!

Be A Bombshell Lip Gloss

~Grey Shimmer Make-Up Bag ($2): Once again I am valuing this at $2 because I know it has some value, but I have no clue what it is. I like this one better than last months brown bag, but not as much as the October chevron bag.

The bag. It’s better than my picture shows.

All totaled, I came up with a value of $69.25 for this month’s ipsy Glam Bag. NOT bad at all considering the $10 price tag. Listen, I am even happy with this month’s bag and I am not the biggest ipsy lover out there by any means.  I’m not sure if there is still a waiting list to subscribe (does anyone know), but you can click here and get signed up! Do you subscribe to ipsy? What’d you think of this month’s bag. And seriously, how many eye liners / eye pencils do you use in a month? Should I be stepping up my game??
