PopSugar Must Have Luxury Edition Box for Him

B’s PopSugar Must Have Luxury Edition “For Him” Box arrived yesterday and you know I had to sneek a peek at everything. B is much better about waiting for things than I am, so he doesn’t want to open it until Christmas morning (*). He just laughed when I took the box down in the basement to take pictures.  I think he was secretly relieved I was taking pictures of it yesterday instead of Christmas Day because now he can tear that thing apart how every he pleases without me being all wait, I need a picture.

The Box

Like the woman’s luxury PopSugar box, this was in a plain brown box and didn’t have any sort of PopSugar label. And in case you care, it weighed 5.8lbs. Also, it didn’t have a ribbon on it like the woman’s box did.

First Look

Just like the woman’s box, all the items were wrapped in black / silver tissue paper.

The Information Booklet

I didn’t get a chance to look at the booklet too much because I was suppose to be wrapping presents too, but it looks like the woman’s one. Fancy paper, lots of pages.

Okay, enough of all that, here is what was inside:

~Heys Touch Screen Digital Luggage Scale ($35): Since B doesn’t travel too much anymore and isn’t a Platinum Delta member or whatever, we don’t get to bring as many bags, weighing whatever they like when we travel ;(. Nope, we are going to have to start playing by the rules. So I think B is going to find this very useful. It’s easy to weigh your bad when you are at home. But when you are on your way home, in a hotel room? Not so easy! This will travel with him (us) from now on for sure.

~Blind Barber Wild Watermint Gin After Shave ($28): I know nothing about After Shave so I cannot offer an opinion.  B has never tried this brand before, so I think he’ll like it!

~Blind Barber Wild Watermint Gin Shave Cream ($24):  Again, I have no opinion / thoughts on this, but it’s pretty expensive, so it totally fits with the luxurious theme.

~Vosges Mo’s Milk Chocolate Bacon Bar($7.50): B is going to love this!  I am guessing it will be gone on Christmas morning.    I got a bacon chocolate bar in my last Birchbox and he loved it, so this is going to be a huge hit.

~Dollar Shave Club Razor / Blades($18): It turns out B’s box is missing the blades that are suppose to be included with this. I e-mailed PopSugar and I am certain they will take care of it. This isn’t just a razor and blades and that’s it. You actually get two months free from Dollar Shave Club! Razors are a hot item around here and B will love this.

~J.FOLD Wallet($59.50): Years and years ago, B actually had a J.FOLD wallet. Somewhere along the line, it got retired in favor of a money clip. I am not sure if he will ever use this or not? It’s a very nice wallet, but then again, he doesn’t carry a wallet anymore. We’ll see.

~Stolen Riches Dress Shoe Laces($17.50): Okay, at first I thought these were so dumb. And then I looked at the website and thought, they, those guys look pretty cool. But the issue here is that B doesn’t own any tie dress shoes. Is that weird? He does go through shoes very quickly though, so maybe his next pair will be tie shoes!

~Slant Shack Jerky($4.12): B is going to be thrilled with this. There is nothing else to say about it!

~Shot Flask ($25): A Caskers shipment just happened to arrive at the same time this did yesterday, so I find this a very fitting addition to the box. It’s a cool idea and I can totally see B wanting something like this. He doesn’t carry a flask around with him much ever, but he’ll like this.  Oh wait, I believe he wants to attend bonnaroo next year, so perhaps he does have a need for one?

~Casabella Silicone Big Ice Trays($11.99): If B doesn’t like these, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on them. He uses whiskey stones when he makes a drink drink and ice maker ice for like water and stuff, so I can’t see him actually making ice cubes (like it’s so hard or something). But I can imagine L and I making giant crayons with these and I am excited!

~workin stiffs Knotz Cufflinks($9.50): I know a lot of metal complained about getting cufflinks in the box and wondered who even wears cufflinks. Well, I am here to tell you that B does! I don’t think these are overly amazing, but they are kind of fun.

~GoSwype($1.99): I wouldn’t call this luxurious by any means, but it’s a useful item and I guessing it will end up in B’s car or at his office.

GoSwype

All totaled, I came up with a value of  $242.  In comparison, I came up with a value of $275 for the woman’s PopSugar Luxury Edition Must Have Box. Still not bad considering the box cost $100. Would I have paid $242 for it? No. Was it worth $100? Yes!

Did you buy the Luxury Box?  What’d you think?  I don’t think B will be disappointed, but he’s not going to OMGTHISISSOAMAZING either! And if you are interested in becoming a subscriber to PopSugar’s monthly Must Have box, click here!

I see that you received a coupon code for Dollar Shave club – my box didn’t have anything like that… I wonder if they will come on their own or if I was jipped.

I bought this for my fianc? for Christmas, thinking it was probably going to be amazing. I had gotten myself a 3-month subscription to the regular Must Have box and, having paid less than $32/box, but gotten over $100 worth of items each, I thought for sure this box would have well over $300 worth of cool stuff.

My fianc? seemed confused and disappointed by the box. Most of it he has no use for. The digital luggage scale? Please, we don’t ever pack that much stuff into one suitcase. Rope cufflinks? The point of cufflinks is to wear when you’re dressed up, so why would someone dress down their dress shirt? His Stolen Riches laces are Moville green with gold tips, which he said he’ll try for our wedding. He seemed to like the wallet, but hasn’t transferred his stuff over to it yet. He liked the shaving cream, aftershave, and razor and even used them shortly after opening. His face smelled really good afterward. He gave me the jerky since he doesn’t like jerky, but I love it. He was confused by the giant ice cube tray “I guess it’s for whiskey?”, but he likes girly cocktails. I’ll probably use it for something. He wasn’t wowed by the chocolate, but I can’t wait to try it.

Overall, I wish I had just gotten him the Star Wars Rebel Pilot headphones on his wish list and maybe spent a month downloading digital copies of all his favorite movies.

I did give him the one thing every man loves, though. You know what I’m talking about. It’s free and only cost a half hour of time. 🙂
