January PopSugar Must Have Box

My January PopSugar Must Have Box arrived today and although I knew what was in it, I tore right into it (like always). And like always, I cursed FedEx Smart Post for being so slow.

The Box

This month’s box weighed 5lbs and included items to get “a fresh start on that fitness resolution while still finding time to indulge in some warm treats”.

First Look

The box was super full this month, which always makes it look nice and neat when you open it.

PopSugar does have one of my favorite information “cards”. It’s not a card, it’s a booklet. It’s got so much fun information about each one of the products. But I won’t bore you with pictures of each page. You get the idea.

The Information Booklet

And here’s what was inside:

Must Have Fitness
:
~Stott Pilates Stability Ball (65CM)($38.99): Meh.  I feel like most people who want one of these already have one.  I even have one!  I may use this one in my (home) office though to try and improve my posture. It can’t hurt right?  There is also a code for 50% off a pilates workout dvd, but I am not including that in the value of the box since I won’t use it.

Stott Pilates Stability Ball

Must Have Fashion
~Remix TimeBomb Watch ($49.95): I cannot find the exact watch online (none of them have numbers online?), but this is close enough.  I think it’s a PopSugar exclusive watch. I don’t ever wear a watch (ever), so I am not sure what I am going to do with this?  I mean it’s cute and all and I really like the color, but it’s not really me.  However, in an effort to try new things, maybe I will give it a go?  Maybe.

Remix TimeBomb Watch

Must Have Beauty
~Epicuren Lip Balm ($9): I am completely obsessed with lip balm and am super excited to give this a try.  I love the Epicuren lotion that was in the luxury box and am guessing that I am going to love this too.  I wouldn’t be sad if PopSugar included a lip balm in every box! How about we put the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in the box next month?

Epicuren Lip Balm

Must Have Food:
~Popba Hot Chocolate on a Stick ($5.98 – $2.99/each): I actually saw these on a friend’s Instagram a few weeks ago and I totally wanted to try them. I was so excited when I saw that they were in the January box! The box included Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate and I am pretty sure I am having the Dark Chocolate tonight. Move over Swiss Miss. I’m having my hot chocolate on a stick tonight.

Popba Hot Chocolate on a Stick

~Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits ($1.49): I am guessing these relate to the Hot Chocolate on a Stick?  I don’t want to mess up my gourmet hot chocolate with marshmallows, but you know who is going to love these?  L.  I almost bought them at the store the other day, but something stopped me.  Maybe I somehow knew?  Regardless, L is going to be thrilled!

Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits

Special Extras:
~ThinkThin Bars $5.67 ($1.69-$1.99/each): While I am not overly excited by these, I will for sure eat them and like them way better than the KIND Bars we got back in July.  But like back in July, I do wish we would have gotten three different brands of bars to try.

ThinkThin Bars

~Castegram Code ($15): This is a code for $15 off your purchase at Castegram.  I have to tell you, I have bought a few iPhone cases from here (and my mom has one too) and I LOVE them.  I’ve gotten tons of compliments on them too.  The cases aren’t crazy expensive either ($39.95 for an iPhone 5 case).

Castegram Code

All totaled, I came up with a value of $126.08 for this box, which is way more than the $35 cost of the box.  Do I love this box?  No, not like I loved the September box anyways. But to me it is worth the $35, so I am happy. Plus, it doesn’t have tea (*), which makes me even happier ;).

Do you subscribe to PopSugar?  What’d you think of this month’s box? If you don’t subscribe and want to, click here and I believe you can get signed up for February’s box?And don’t forget to use code REFER5 for $5 off your first month.

(*) B finished all the tea from the December box and is totally obsessed with the Bodum mugs. He uses them every single day. I think they may be his favorite subscription box item ever.

I loved the tea from the December box (not all the flavors but most) and I’ve been using those Bodum mugs every day. I’m getting the January box but was wondering how you use the hot chocolate on a stick? Just stir it around in some hot milk or water?

    1. Jennifer

I believe you are supposed to put it in hot milk???

  2. Glenda

I completely agree with you on the watch and the exercise ball. I also already have a ball and never wear a watch. So, sorta disappointed.

  3. Clarisse

I think you can put it in water too! I loved the mugs and the tea also. Are the castegram cases good quality?

  4. Laura Diniwilk

This is going to be my first box and I am SO EXCITED. I think I would be a lot less excited if I already had a stability ball, but that is one of those things that I have always wanted, just not quite enough to make a purchase. I am hoping for the black watch myself, but I most likely won’t get my box until tomorrow.

I totally plan to use the marshmallows for preschooler bribery.

  5. Shelby

I got the blue watch too. I’m mehhh about it. I kinda wanted the pink!! && It would be SO amazing if Popsugar sent out lip balm every month. I would love love love that! Oooo I wonder if there is a subscription service of lippies every month?! I would sign up for that! Anyway, the marshmallow bits….are amazing. I always want more marshmallows than what the packet gives so now I can have a ton!

You’re the second person I’ve seen mention the “Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment !” What exactly is that? Now my interest is suuuper peaked! I’m the same boat as you are, I wouldn’t be disappointed if they put lip balm in every months box!!! I’m getting two February boxes…hope its something good!!!

  7. Shawn

I signed up for PopSugar through your link and was hoping to get this months since they got extras, but didn’t respond in time :(. I really wanted that Pilates ball in theory, but who knows if I ever would have used it. I REALLY wanted that Remix watch cuz, like you, I’ve never worn a watch, but I have to wear one at work now and have had the worst luck! Both my super cute hello kitty watches broke on a week and the next one I got has a stretchy band that ripped out tiny wrist hairs and pinched! The one im using now is just ugly. Lemme know if you wanna sell it!

I also signed up for Ipsy and Goodie Box! You have opened my eyes to getting presents every month! Thanks!

If you were being serious about buying the watch.. I got the blue one too, and I simply would never use this baby! Adorable, but not for me.

You can reach me at mcclurab@plu.edu if you’re interested.

Mine came today too. I don’t have a ball so kindof excited to try one out. I got the pink watch and I do wear a watch everyday so I’m excited to mix this one in with my lot. I really need to dig out my Dec box. I set it aside in all the Christmas hoopla and haven’t really opened it to play with everything yet.

  9. Cathy@Five Boys

Did you try your lip balm yet? Mine smells icky! I’m not sure tea tree oil is the right choice for my lips!

  10. Yivanna

I subscribe to the box. Wasnt to excited about the ball I have no room for it in my home. The watch I will be putting up in a giveaway I will be having soon. Its a cool watch but not for me. Love the Balm. I agree they should have the suga ones in a future box. The thing i was most excited for was the Chocolate pop bars. Even though Ive passed their store in the city afew times . I never went in

  11. Shelby

I started in July with the first bag. Obviously September and November were awesome and even liked December a lot. The january box is my least fave. I had encouraged a couple of friends to join in November and they had to wait until January for their first box …..they were not thrilled so i felt bad for them. Value is still over 35 but who doesn’t have a ball already and who wears a giant watch? Just sayin’. Let’s hope there is redemption in the February box or I am afraid a lot of january newcomers will drop.

  12. Stacey

This was my first box as well. I have a stability ball, so I wasn’t hat excited and while I wear a watch every day, I got the black one, I have a black watch and it is really big. Overall though, for the price, it was fun to get and I look forward to testing this for a few months.

  13. Brandi

I got the black watch and it’s just not my style. I would love to trade for a white, pink, or purple watch. Is anyone interested? Email me at brandip805@gmail.com
