Citrus Lane
April Citrus Lane (12 Months)

My April Citrus Lane box(es) finally arrived today and I gotta tell you, I was getting a little but worried about them!  It has never taken them so long to arrive.  I actually think one got lost when it arrived at my local post office and the other got a little lost somewhere in transit.  But they both arrived safe and sound today and that’s all that matters!

Citrus Lane
The Box

I get a box for WB and one for L.  L’s box was smaller than WB’s.  I didn’t take a comparison picture, so you are just going to have to take my word for it.

Citrus Lane
First Look

When I opened the box I forgot that I had opted to add on a Skip*Hop bib for $8.  I don’t believe they have ever offered anything like this before so I figured why not?  Plus, we can ALWAYS use more bibs.  Always.

Citrus Lane
First Look

This is the real first look, after I remove the bib and opened the tissue paper.  I was SO excited to see the product that they had included from The Honest Co.  I read the spoilers before the box shipped that Honest Co. would be part of the box, but I wasn’t sure which item.

Citrus Lane
The Information Card

Citrus Lane does not do themes anymore, rather they have just moved to a box of items which are age appropriate for your little one.  This has to be way easier for them!  Oh, I should also mention that Citrus Lane is working to make their boxes more “green” and are shipping out smaller boxes, using less tissue paper per box and the boxes are being produced with solar power.  Pretty cool right?  Here’s what our box included:

~Slide & Seek Toy from Melissa & Doug ($5.99): WB is going to LOVE this.  He saw it when he opened the box, but he will not remember seeing it, so it’s going to be a brand new toy when I give it to him.  I am going to save it for when he’s in a small space and needs to be entertained quietly!

~Packin’SMART Stack-N-Seal 2 Tier from Innobaby ($8.99): I always put dry items in these types of containers, but I think I am going to try something different next time.   Even when we aren’t traveling, the boys (especially L) really like when I put their food in special containers.  It must taste different?  Also these are dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe, which I think is a must for everything.

~Non-Slip Placemat from Oogaa ($8.99): I forget to include those disposable placemats in my diaper bag all the time, but these are going in there and I am NOT taking them out. They grip the table AND you can color on them with a marker, throw them in the dishwasher when you are done and they will be perfectly clean!  Now I wouldn’t trust WB with a marker (he’s eat it), but this has L written all over it!!

~Shampoo & Body Wash from The Honest Company ($9.95): I was so excited to see this was the item from The Honest Co. line that they included.  I LOVE this for the kids, but I haven’t added it to my essentials bundle in a while because I needed other items more (my supply of kids body wash is insane).  These are going to get used ASAP because I love how yummy the kids smell after I use it!

All totaled, my April Citrus Lane box had a value of $33.92.  Certainly not the most “valuable” box ever, but we will totally use everything in the box.

The WB likes it.

I also received a box for L (who turns 5 next month) and it included: Wooden Stamp Set from Melissa & Doug ($6.99), Keepin’ Fresh Kids Food Storage Container from Innobaby ($4), Non-Slip Placemat from Oogaa ($8.99) and Shampoo & Body Wash from The Honest Company ($9.95) for a total value of $29.93.  Again, not overly “valuable”, but everything is totally usable.

My lo is the same age as wb so w got a similar box. I was also totally excited about the honest shampoo i had just been saying how i was totally over the Johnson and Johnsons and wanting to try something more eco friendly instead of the slide and seek e got the gasping caterpillar i love it and my lo is starting to get interested. I don’t think w will be using the placemat for a while but the snack containers have already been put into action. So far we are using everything but i want over the moon about it

Also mine came super early this month a full week before my last months

I’m wondering why I didn’t get an offer to add a bib?! I missed the utensil set last month…but I did get the emails. This month I didn’t get any emails offering addons:( I have wanted to try those bibs!
I like your boxes…can’t wait to try the Honest Company products:)

I really enjoy reading your reviews for these kinds of boxes because it helps me find stuff that I might want to get Nathaniel for his birthday. The Slide and Seek toy is really cute and definitely something that I will be looking into getting him for his b-day. You will have to let me know how well WB likes it.

I have been offered a skip hop item to add on each month so far, last month it was the zoo tensils, but both times that email went to my spam so lucky I saw it! I love skip hop, it is one of my favorite and most owned baby gear brands…I wish they included the brand in the box rather than as an add on. Looks like all ages got really similar boxes this month.

@Danielle: Oh man, I just found my offer in my spam folder too! For the cute owl straw cup! I’m so upset I missed it. Bah. Thanks for the heads up about the spam folder though.

I think our box was for a 16 month old girl (I can’t remember the age they have down and the website won’t load). We got: a Melissa and Doug friendly fish grasping toy, the oogaa mat, juice box holder, and the shampoo and bodywash. It seemed like a decent box! she doesn’t have much interest in the toy, but I think it’s cute and fun to flip around, so she might grow into it 😉

I have a 19 month old boy. This is our first box.
We got a Melissa & Doug paint with water book, the placemat, plum tots bananas pouch(he’s beyond the days of mashed food and he never liked the pouches)
The pouch holder, the shampoo. Our skip hop add on was a straw cup. I’m happy I did see the email. This doesn’t seem like the “best” box from previous months I’ve seen posted. But I will stick with it. I’m sure he will use everything but that banana pouch

My son is 15 moms old and basically got the same items except e Melissa and Doug toy was the grasping toy. My son will not care about the toy. I might just gift it. Love the body wash and containers however.

  9. Mel

I got the same box as Melissa (for my 29 month old daughter). I love the drink box/pouch holder because it’s foldable to put in my purse, the body wash/shampoo (wow, it smells so good, I want to steal it), and the placemat, but the fruit pouch wasn’t a favorite and the paint thing just didn’t work well. I would’ve preferred a different toy item.

We loved our Citrus Lane box this month!

I just signed up for Citrus Lane and will get our 1st box in May. I have a question since you’ve been getting boxes for a while… should I age my daughter up a month? Her birthday is Sept 17, 2013, when I signed her up in April she was 7 months old and my CL profile says my daughter is 7 months old; however, by the time the May box arrives she’ll be 8 months. I guess I’m not sure if this will be a big deal or not, if her boxes are always geared towards someone 1 month younger. I’d hate to get stuff that she’s not interested in. What do you suggest I do… leave it as is or age her up a month?

    1. Jennifer

I don’t think it’s a big deal? I would assume it will change automatically. But I also don’t think aging her up would hurt either!

  12. Anna

I can’t imagine one month would make a difference either. I think I’ll leave it for now, but age her up for the next box. Thanks for the quick reply!
