My June Dallas Shaw GLOSSYBOX appeared in the mailbox today and I pretty much ran into the house to open it up.  Ever since I saw a sneak peek of the box, I have been waiting for it to show up!

The Box

I’m skipping right to the inner box this month.  This was what I was waiting for.  And it did not disappoint.  The regular boxes are cute and all, but this June GLOSSYBOX?  OMG.  Love!  Dallas Shaw did the illustration for the box, which is her holding a GLOSSYBOX and I can’t get enough of it.  So cute!  Can GLOSSYBOX get her to do these every month?  I’d go crazy for that.

For whatever reason, I didn’t realize that the information card would also be special.  So I was even more excited when I opened the box and saw the cutest information card ever!

I knew a few of the products that would be in the box, but I didn’t know everything.  I was pleased by what saw, but let’s be real.  I was still just looking at how cute that box was!

The Information Card

In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, the June GLOSSYBOX was curated by Dallas Shaw.  In case you don’t know who Dallas Shaw is, she’s an “It-Girl”.  She’s been hired by lots of top brands to do illustrations and also has killer style.  So I think it’s fair to say that she has great taste!

~c.Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist ($3.50): This is a lightweight dry oil for for your face and body which leaves an light, lasting glow.  I tested it out and it smells fabulous and isn’t greasy at all.  I might need to spray a little more next them though, because I want to have a little more glow!

~Oscar de la Renta Essential Luxuries (~$10): This line of six scents was inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s love of fashion.  They aim to make you “find joy, be sparkling, feel gorgeous”.  Of course I testes each one of these right away and my favorites are Oriental Lace, Sargasso and Mi Corazon.  The other scents – Granada, Coralina and Santa Domingo are nice too and I will for sure use them all, but I love the first three I named more.  Sadly, this is $150 for 3.4oz for I don’t think I will ever but this, but I do love it!  And the little pouch holding them all somehow makes them even fanceir.

~Philip B. pH Restorative Detangling Toning Mist ($10): This is a leave-in toner that “adjusts the pH of tap water to seal the cuticle of you hair” to make it all fabulous and shiny.  If Dallas Shaw likes this, I like it.  Have you seen her hair? It’s dreamy.  And I want my hair to be dreamy too.

~SpaRitual Nail Polish (Days of Wine and Roses) ($12): Don’t get me wrong, I love this color, love this brand (I got it in the summer Yuzen box) and had I not know what was supposed to be in the box, I would have been over the moon.  However, I am still wiping away the tears about the cute Dallas Shaw illustrated Bondi New York polishes we were supposed to get.  But I do really love this color so I’ll probably be over it soon.

~tarte complexion enhancing lipstick (fair-to-light) ($14.50): I’m not a huge lipstick wearer, but this sounds (and looks) very cool.  It’s blendy so you can turn it into any shade you want. I always shy away from testing lipstick right away because I don’t want to waste it if I hate it, but I need to just get over it and give it a try!

All totaled, the June Dallas Shaw GLOSSYBOX had a value of $50.  Of course this is estimated since I don’t know how to value the perfume samples, but even if those weren’t included it would be well over the $21/month cost of the box!  This might just be my favorite GLOSSYBOX to date!

I like the box more than the products themselves ( don’t get me wrong I like those too). I got the nail polish in “kiss the cook”. Although it’s a nice shade it’s not really my style. I’ll probably end up giving it away. My favorite fragrance was mi corazon. This was a great box, and I can’t wait to use all the products.

This is a great box! I really want to try out that lipstick, and the color of the nailpolish is very pretty. I would have been kind of disappointed about the Bondi nail polish but this color is pretty good too!

I love this box and I mean the actual box it came in but the goodies inside are pretty amazing too!

Seeing the actual products makes me happy I canceled my Glossybox subscription. I do think the box is cute, but I am super picky about fragrances, and wouldn’t have used anything else in the box except for maybe the Tarte lipstick. I do like the color of the polish you received, but I really wanted that Bondi NY polish in that darling bottle!

Thanks for making me feel better about my decision. GB might go back on my list for some point in the future, but I think I’ll do a Pop Sugar or Wantable before that happens.

    Cheers,

I was trying not to look but had to nice box :))

I purchased that exact color nail polish about a year ago at my old Aveda salon in Texas. I still love the color AND it has not dried at all which is huge for nail polish. I am currently stalking my box and am hoping it gets here by Monday or Tuesday.

@JenC: Mine got here TODAY! I got a nail color I can actually use during the work week (neutral colors only with my job), and got hair gel. I would have rather received the detangling mist, but the gel smells divine so I might just have to try it. 😉 I also received the lipstick in medium-tan, even though I am about as pale as they come. It is a pretty color though and I will definitely use it. I agree with you in that I think this might be my favorite Glossybox! I am super excited to add the box to my other Glossyboxes that I use to organize my office supplies. I would totally invest in a Dallas Shaw Glossybox every month!

Got mine today and I’m in love with the dry oil! Holy cow it smells great and leaves a nice shine on my legs! Perfect for summer!

OMG. So you remember me mentioning that I had cancelled my GB sub over the whole Bondi thing? Well my June Dallas Shaw box arrived yesterday. And yes, I cancelled. And yes, I got a refund. And yes, my subscription is inactive. And yes, they still sent it. I called GB to try to figure out what was up, and they basically admitted they messed up. I asked how they wanted me to send it back, and they told me to just keep it and maybe it would help me decide to sign up again!

So, yes this was a free box, but receiving it totally made me happy that I cancelled. Almost everything in it is wrong for me. The Tarte lipstick is for medium to dark, and I’m crazy pale. The polish is turquoise. Well I think it is; the bottle’s too dark for me to figure it out. The Philip B. product I received was a Creme rinse, but I only use one conditioner. I will say that I will absolutely use the free bonus Model Co eyeshadow that came in the box, and the lipstick doesn’t look completely awful on me. And the box itself is super cute. Plus, it was free so I really shouldn’t complain.

Sorry for such a long post. I just figured I’d share the crazy.

Blah! While the literal box was very cute, the products I received were a disappointment. Like others, I’m pale as a sheet of notebook paper and I received a medium lipstick from Tarte. The polish was Kiss the Cook, which is a bit dark for summer, IMHO. I love wearing perfume, but I have 2 scents I wear every day and night, so I’m totally uninterested in perfume samples. I didn’t receive the detangling mist, which I may have actually used!
