My LONG awaited May Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box finally arrived today! I ordered back on May 2nd (for real) and had hoped that I actually would receive it in May. It was not to be though. I don’t know what it is about these celebrity curated boxes, but Fancy seems to get off to a rough start with them. P!nk was super late. Coco Rocha was late. Tyler Florence was late. If it really annoyed me, I’d just cancel, but I’ve kind of just started to expect it to tell you the truth. That way I don’t get all fired up about it anymore.
I got a shipping notice on this box (and my Coco Rocha one) earlier this afternoon, but I tracked it by reference yesterday (your order number is your reference number on FedEx), so I already knew it was coming today. My (May) Coco Rocha box this way and learned that it’s set to arrive Saturday ;). Fancy Box ships via FedEx Ground which I love. If PopSugar shipped that way, I’d have my box by now. Just saying. And yes, I am quite pleased I got the yellow box. I’ve been wanting the yellow one.
I had checked out the spoilers on MUT (I love me some MUT), but seeing it in person is always better. Always! Although I was kind of surprised to see how empty the box was. I knew was was in it and what the size of the box was, so I guess I could have figured it out, but still.
I was pleased to see the special JLH information cards and loved reading her reasons for selecting the pieces and seeing why she loved the pieces. I have loved JLH for ages so I HAD to get this box. She seems so down to earth and so real. I can relate to her totally and figured she’d do pretty well putting a box together.
Here’s what it included:
~Verse Headphones by Urban Beatz ($29.99): I’m not sure about these. On one hand, I never use headphones like these. On the other hand, maybe that’s because I don’t have headphones like these? I’m not sure? B has some noise canceling ones and uses them all the time. We’ll see about these. I do think they are cute though.
~Simple Wayfarer by Free Clothing Co. ($9.99): While these are a totally classic style, I have none like them at all. I’m going to leave these in the car or my diaper bag (which I rarely carry but when I do I will be in total need of some sunglasses) so I always always always have a pair of sunglasses. I need them everywhere and will NOT leave the house without them. Ever. And since B now just gives me the look when I want to buy a pair (*), I need to rely on my subscription boxes for them!
~American Apparel Fluorescent Orange Cuffed Beanie ($20): When I first saw the spoilers on this, I thought it said “beret”. I was like NO WAY. Luckily I totally read that wrong and it was a BEANIE. Ha! While I can’t pull off a hat quite like JLH (those used to be my initials by the way), I don’t care and will totally wear this hat. And the brighter the better really. But it would have been a better fit for a winter box. It’s summer. Who is wearing a beanie?
~Katie Dean Jewelry Turquoise Bad to the Bone Bracelet ($25): I totally love this (although it’s not something I would pick out on my own) and can’t wait to wear it. It can come to my arm party any day of the week.
All totaled, I came up with a value of $84.98 for the May Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box. Would I have paid $84.98 for the box? No. Or even the $46.95 cost of the box? Meh. Probably not. But luckily I used a coupon code when I subscribed and only only paid $26.95. Totally worth it I think. And since they already charged me for June, it looks like I still be sticking around long enough to check that one out as well!
