I don’t usually do two separate reviews on Citrus Lane (even though I typically receive two boxes), but I decided to this month because they came on separate days.

The Box

You can find my other July Citrus Lane review here, which explains that this box got stuck somewhere in transit.  It started off so promising and I thought it would arrive super early, but no.  Not even.

First Look

I looked in my Citrus Lane account online to verify what age box WB gets and it turns out he gets the 16 month-old box even though he just turned 15 months yesterday.  I have no idea how this happened and have his age set to his actual age in my CL profile.  I have never altered the dates, so yeah, I have no clue what happened and even less of a clue why it took me three months to realize that WB was never 13 months old according to Citrus Lane.

What?

See?  It makes no sense.  But am I going to contact them about it?  Probably not.  I think the 15 month-old box and the 16 month-old box were the same this month, so it doesn’t really matter.

The Information Card

Citus Lane has done away with themes, but they still seem to sort of have them? This July, Citrus Lane is sending essentials for playtime and picnicking outdoors from some of their favorite partners, Goodbyn and Episencial. They have also included an activity from Melissa and Doug for those rainy days and a way to capture and share your summer from with Postagram. Here’s what our box included:

~SUMO Snack Stacker from ZoLi ($18): I totally love this because not only can I store snacks in it for the boys, I can then separate it and give each of them their own individual cups.  We have a ton of special snack holders, but this one is bigger than most of the ones we have and will probably get used the most.

~Wooden Peg Puzzles from Melissa & Doug ($7.99): I’d seen some spoilers of boxes around this age and was totally sure we’d get a puzzle we already have. I think we have every single M&D puzzle EXCEPT the one we got.  I have no idea how this is possible, but it happened.

~Cool It Buddy Instant Cold Pack from Me4Kidz ($2.99): We got these in our other box as well and I am fine with the duplicate since these are single use packs.  Now we can fix four boo-boos instead of just two.

~Yum Yummy Baby Cookies from Ella’s Kitchen ($4.99): WB loves these and has already broken into the package.  I actually think he’d be quite happy if he just received an entire package of just these cookies.  He’s been eating these since before he even had teeth (which was seriously only like two months ago) and has always loved them.

~Postagram from Sincerely, Inc. ($10 – 10 Postagrams): I am going to have to get B to get a Postagram account since all the CL Postagram codes appear to be the same and I can’t use two in the same account.  It would be cool if he’d just randomly send me Postagrams to add to my mail fun, but I doubt he’ll actually do it.  He does read here though (he just scans for mentions of “B”), so you never know.  Hint, hint B.

Add-OnBumkins Wet/Dry Bag: I don’t know what got into me, but I opted in for the add-on in this month’s box.  The options were a Changing Station by Skip Hop, a Zippered Wet / Dry Bag by Bumkins and a Shampoo / Body Wash by California Baby.  You could opt to purchase all the items, just one or two or none.  The add-ons aren’t discounted, but sometimes I just can’t resist.  This bag is a lot bigger than I expected (it’s folded in half in the package it’s in) and it’ll come in handy for toting wet bathing suits around.

All totaled I came up with a value of $43.97 for the July Citrus Lane box for a 16 month-old boy.  This does not, of course, include the add-on which I paid for in full.  In comparison, the 39 month-old boy box had a value of $32.26.  And just like that box, I love this one and I will use everything in it without question.
