Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box full of hand-picked, awesome geek and gamer products. Each month, for less than $20, you’ll receive 6-8 products which are guaranteed to have a value of $30 or more. And can I just tell you that I wrote this entire review up yesterday only to lose it all when my internet went down? Grrr.
Loot Crate ships via USPS First Class Mail and arrived very quickly from CA.
Loot Crate had been building up their anniversary crate for a while so I was anxious to see what would be in it. And so was L who always loves the goodies that come in Loot Crate.
The August Loot Crate theme was “Cake” and was all about celebrating Loot Crate’s First Anniversary! To celebrate, Loot Crate included an “epic” shirt that represents the fuel that has kept their team energized this past year, items from the video game series Portal and an item from the most request franchise from Looters! Here’s a breakdown:
~Caffeine Power Up Shirt by Shirt.Woot! ($15): I love caffeine, so this shirt is perfect for me! I also love woot! They have the funniest product descriptions out there. I would love if woot! came up with their own subscription boxes.
~Aperture Laboratories Lanyard & Test Subject Wristband ($7.99): I’m not a gamer and have never heard of Portal, however I hear it is quite popular! L happily took these items and plans to play scientist with them ;).
~AMC Walking Dead Mystery Mini ($5.41): I don’t watch The Walking Dead (I know, I know, it’s fabulous), but B and my SIL do so I consulted with them on this character. And neither one could tell me her name! Does anyone know?
~Aperture Laboratories Temporary Tattoo ($1): This is another L item! While he doesn’t know what a lot of the brands / games in Loot Crate is, he does enjoy the items they send!
~Loot Crate Sticker Set: Loot Crate says that they use these in the office as a way to aspire to transport crates more quickly! I love that they want to get crates out more quickly. They ship in batches and seem to do a good job, but I’m sure no one would complain if they got their crate more quickly!
~Jelly Belly Jelly Beans: These are long gone. L and I enjoyed a bag each as we were going through the crate. Every box should have a surprise treat in it like this!
All totaled I came up with a value of $29.40 for the August Loot Crate. Loot Crate is $19.37/month ($13.47 + $6 S/H) and as usual, this is a great value. They are quickly becoming one of L’s favorite boxes because of the unique items they send!

Your Walking Dead figurine is the zombie girl from the beginning of first episode.

That little girl is first zombie that pops up when Rick is looking for gas in the very first episode 🙂
I am not a crazy Walking Dead fan, I just like a good zombie read or movie/tv show
I’m not much of a gamer either (except for the occasional Sims 3 game). I hear a lot of people really like this box though.
Reviews Until You Drop
Is the walking dead girl Sophia?
The girl with the teddy bear is from the very first episode, in season one.
LOVE the t-shirt!
NO on woot having a monthly subscription box. I do need money to eat you know….
I believe the walking dead character is a little girl zombie in the first episode. She was pretty creepy. Not really a primary character.
Also, Portal is amazing. Great box there.
I could be wrong but I believe that little girl character is Carol’s daughter who went missing in Season 2 (or 3 I’m not sure) but when they found her she had already turned into a zombie.
I have not looked at any other posts so someone else may have answered. My guess is she is the little girl character we saw in the early episodes walking on the highway alone. She was one of the earliest zombies to appear and I think the first child. I could be totally wrong because its been a few years since I saw that episode. I think this child zombie had slippers (the clue to the character) and the usually dragging of the feet, lol.
Charli
I could not stop thinking about that designer vinyl zombie girl. Correction she was in the yard I think and Rick shot her there. She did sneak up on him and was the first zombie child, I THINK. I have not looked online so the correct answer will be there I’m sure.
LOL I’m crazy about my shows
Sophia!
Sophia?
She’s the little girl in episode one of the first season at the gas station!!!! The sow is in Netflix just so you know
Its not Sophia, hats off to us Walking Dead Fans. Its the girl from the first episode, and I attached a description from ebay where a large statue is for sale. This was going to drive me crazy till I figured it out or confirmed my answer, lol.
Would you like to hold my teddy bear?
LIFE-SIZE statue from the very first episode of The Walking Dead.
Teddy Bear Girl is operated by motion and sound sensors!
Stands 55-inches tall and features multi-directional movement and realistic snarling audio.
Can you think of a creepier Halloween decoration?
Would you like to hold my teddy bear? Don’t do it if you know what’s good for you! Clawing her way out of the very first episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead – “Days Gone Bye” – is this spine-chilling LIFE-SIZE rendering of Teddy Bear Girl. Complete with furry little friend and standing 55-inches tall, The Walking Dead Teddy Bear Girl Life-Size Statue from Morbid Enterprises is crafted of vinyl, fabric, plastic, and metal. She features multi-directional movement and realistic snarling audio? and she’s operated by motion and sound sensors! Whether you’re adding her to your The Walking Dead collection or planning to use her as a creepier-than-creepy Halloween decoration, you’ll be glad you brought Teddy Bear Girl to your home? maybe? if you’re careful.
Since its October 2010 television debut on AMC, The Walking Dead has thrilled and frightened audiences with its portrayal of a post-apocalyptic world filled with shuffling hordes of undead zombies. Ultra-popular, the series has also received multiple award nominations.

At first I thought your figure was carols daughter Sophia but she had a doll not a teddy bear so it is the zombie girl from the first episode who did have a teddy bear.
I loved this months loot crate especially the cute shirt and the jelly beans although I wish I’d gotten 2 packs of them they were so good lol.
I grew up close to the Jelly Belly factory in California. I used to love to stop by on my way to and from San Francisco.
Not going to lie here, this review is annoying. You’re not a geek, you have no idea what’s in these boxes, but you just take the, for free and review them for the sake of getting something for nothing. It’s like extreme couponers who buy 76 toothbrushes because they were free, despite either having mouse for them or inventing a new use for them (like giving the items to your child to play make believe with). Enjoy your free stuff that you can’t possibly understand.
Not going to lie here, this comment is annoying. You?re judgmental, you have no idea what people enjoy, but you just sit there and typo all over, for free and comment for the sake of annoying people for nothing. It?s like extreme complainers who comment on 76 posts because they think we care, despite either having no use for them or inventing a new use for them (like showing the comments to your child to make fun of with). Enjoy your life and keep your opinions to yourself on things that you can?t possibly understand.
Well I for one enjoyed this review! You have a fun writing style. I would never accuse someone of not being a geek, because who am I to judge? I would never expect someone to be familiar with all or most of the geek fandoms out there. I haven’t played Portal yet or seen The Walking Dead yet either. My favorite item was the t-shirt, because I’d been wanting something from Shirt Woot! I gave my blind box figure to a friend who totally loved it! Anyway, looking forward to the September box!
that zombie is sophia. in the first season she ran from zombies got separated from the others and after a few episodes they found her stuffed teddy then more episodes later finally found her in a barn with tons of zombies. a guess was made she might have hid there in hopes of shelter. theres more to it and yes the show is deff worth watching. i was most exited to find the zombie and jelly beans, jelous though you got a good char the zombie i got was a lame ground crawler zombie
on second look sophia had a doll not a teddy so im guessing this is the zombie girl from back more towards the beggining when they first started traveling from their first site.
