Try The World is a brand new bi-monthly subscription box that allows you to try products from around the world without leaving your house. Their team of travelers and local experts curates a collection of products that best represent each country / city. The first box starts in Paris and then boxes move to Toyoko, Rio and other cities around the globe. Boxes include not only delicious gourmet finds but also a companion on the history of the products and how to use them.
Try the World asked me if I would want to check out a Mini Paris box and of course I said yes! It’s a smaller box than the actual box you’ll receive if you subscribe is, but you’ll get the idea ;).
Try the World ships via USPS Priority Mail. Everything was packaged very nicely and it felt like I was getting a gift in the mail. The envelop contained all of the information cards, along with some background on the company.
The information cards contain product information, playlists and information about the country / region selected. The first Try the World box is called the Classic Paris Box and brings some of the finest gourmet products sourced from across France, including the following:
~les confitures a l’ancienne (aka hot chocolate powder): I’m waiting for a chilly day to try this amazing hot chocolate. I feel like it would be unfair to the hot chocolate to try it just to try it when it’s 80+ degrees out! Trust me when I tell you I am looking forward to this!
~le palais des thes (aka tea): No matter how fancy the tea ism I still don’t enjoy it. However, my cousin just got home from France and happens to love tea, so this is going to be perfect for her. She misses french ice-cream too, but I suspect that’s harder to box up and ship!
~alain milliat orlienas (aka preserves): These preserves are made from produce from the finest growers in France. And from the test I did, I can confirm they are delicious!
Since I received the mini box, not the full box, I didn’t go a cost breakdown. It just wouldn’t have been fair! Try the World is $39 per box and if you subscribe, you will receive a box every 60 days or so. I found a picture on their website which I believe is everything you’ll receive in the full box.

This looks pretty awesome! Popsugar is my highest price sub box (since I cancelled FabFitFun), and I didn’t really want to add another…but this is definitely tempting!
I miss France so much! I lived there all of last year. Where was your cousin?
I wonder how difficult the items are to find in the US.
I really liked Try the World I did a review of the full box a while back before they launched. I couldn’t do a price estimate because I couldn’t find a place online to buy anything I received! So I would say it would be pretty hard to find them in the states. Check out my review:

I signed up to try their box in early Sept. but haven’t heard anything next to a welcome email. When I tried to get into my acct on their site, I wasn’t even registered which I don’t know how that’s possible being that I’m a subscriber so I called them and of course no avail, so I sent them an email. Fingers crossed that I hear back from them. Would hate to unsubscribe to something that I’m not subscribed to???? lolllol
