October Box of Happies

The folks over at Box of Happies kindly offered to send me over their October “Grand Opening” box to review! Box of Happies is a brand new monthly box subscription of unique handmade products. Each box includes 3 to 5 handmade surprises from artists who specialize in one or more of the following categories: jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath & beauty, photography, and housewares.

The Package

Box of Happies ships via USPS Priority Mail and, you guessed it, arrived very quickly!  Since this is a brand new subscription, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

The Box

“Happies” are items that cheer you up and bring smiles to your face.  All I did was pull the box out of the envelope and I was smiling!  Everything was packed in a reusable box which I thought was amazing.

The Information Card

Box of Happies had a few different information cards in the box and also included business cards for each of the items in the box.  Here’s what the October box included:

~Leas Letters Sticky Notes with Mini Gel Pen ($4):  This adorable little sticky note holder and mini pen are in my bag already!  I am constantly digging through my bag trying to find something to write on.  I have 8 jillion pens, but never any paper!

~Mint Marbles Nautical Necklace ($10): This etsy shop is on vacation right now, but I am going to make it a point to revisit when she returns because she’s got some super cute pieces in her “sold” items and I want to see the rest.  I love that the necklace has an antique feel to it, but without the antique price!

~Box of Happies Earrings ($8): These earrings are a Box of Happies “original happy” and were made just for subscribers.  I tend to not wear dangly earrings (that would be too much temptation for WB to try and grab), so these might end up in the gift pile.  Or I’ll just save them ;).

~All Glass Art Ring ($5): While not the fanciest ring I own, I totally love it.  I put it on right away and and am actually even wearing it right now.  I’m not wearing my wedding rings (I rarely do unless I am doing something other than errands to be honest), I’m wearing this.

~Petersen Designs Recipe Cards ($2): I have been trying to figure out a way to organize all our recipes and I want to hear what you guys do to keep them organized.  My mom (and I’d love to know when she found the time to do this little task) has all hers all neatly handwritten on cards like this.  Me? Mine are a hot mess.  Some in this cookbook, some printed from the internet, etc. Just everywhere.  I’d love to get a bunch of these and get organized, but that’s not going to happen I bet.  In reality, I will use these as a gift tag when I make my Aunt Karen’s Cookies (not her original recipe but she has them perfected) as gifts!

All totaled I came up with a value of $29 for the October Grand Opening Box of Happies Box!  Box of Happies is $28.99/month, including shipping which is a much better deal than just buying everything individually because you would have to pay for shipping on the individual items on top of that!

If you are interested in learning more or want to subscribe, click here!  Box of Happies is different than other subscriptions because you can easily pick and choose the months you want to receive boxes.  Just want November 2013 and April 2014?  Done.  All you need to do is click those months and check out!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was received for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received
