Eeek! My October Loot Crate was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. I was super excited to get it because I’d seen some spoilers and this month looked fabulous! In case you aren’t familiar with them, Loot Crate (who kindly sent me this box to review) is a monthly subscription box full of hand-picked, awesome geek and gamer products. Each month, for less than $20, you’ll receive 6-8 products which are guaranteed to have a value of $30 or more.
Loot Crate ships via USPS First Class Mail and arrived to me in record time. I think it took like two days this month?
I knew what was going to be in the box, but I was still excited to open it up and see it all in person. I don’t typically watch YouTube unboxing videos, but I watched this guy’s video for the spoilers and now I feel like I want to watch YouTube unboxings for all boxes. He was just so excited and I loved it!
The October Loot Crate theme was “Survive” and was all about preparing for the impending zombie apocalypse. Everyone says it’s coming, so we best prepare! Here’s what the Loot Crate team stocked the box with to help us prepare:
~GraphicLab Ewoking Dead T-Shirt ($15): I love this!!! I think it’s the best Loot Crate shirt I’ve ever seen. I was planning on giving it to my brother who likes loves both The Walking Dead and Star Wars (a lot), but then I realized that it was a woman’s t-shirt that and that wouldn’t work. LOL! I even made B try it to to be sure. I’ll either keep this one for me or give as a gift OR try to trade for a Men’s shirt!
~The Zombie Survival Guide ($11.38): Now this is going to my brother who suddenly has a ton of free time on his hands (he broke his ankle in a zillion places and had this week surgery and is banned from basically everything for a while). At least now he can properly prepare for the impending attack. Because, yeah, it’s not like he’s going to be able to outrun them.
~Outbreak Status Temporary Tattoo Set / Zombie Hunter ID / 8-Bit Zombie Buttons / Creept Candy ($5): L has never actually seen a show on zombies, yet he plays and pretends to be a zombie and / or chases zombies all the time. He is going to flip when I give him the zombie hunter card (I’m going to put his picture on it) and tattoo set. And as soon as he sees the candy, it’s going to be all over. I’m sending the pins off to my brother as well since I know he will have a use for them.
~Love Your Guts Card ($4): I am totally regretting showing this to B. I should have saved it for Valentine’s Day. He would have totally gotten a kick out of that! Why do I guy cards at Hallmark when I can get cards like these??
All totaled I came up with a value of $35.38 for the October Loot Crate. Loot Crate is $19.37/month ($13.47 + $6 S/H) and this month was a hit at our house! I think B is jealous I am giving the book away because he started flipping through it when he saw it and was trying to read about the recent zombie attacks.

I LOVED this month’s box! I took that book and started reading it until midnight last night. I am so prepared for an attack, you have no idea.
Ha!!!!! It’s good to be prepared though. You just never know.
Yes! This month was my favorite loot crate box yet, I love The Walking Dead so I will keep everything in my box. Unfortunately I will have to cancel so I can have some extra money for the holiday season. 🙁
Boo! Maybe you can put it on your holiday list?
I am in love with this shirt! And even better that it is a woman’s shirt! I wish I had signed up. The Ewok adventure was my third favorite movie as a child (following The Never Ending Story and The Last Unicorn). @Pilar, I understand! I am cutting back a little for the holidays too!
Ohh, I loved The Never Ending Story!
This would have been a great box for my husband and I (though I already have the book, and have been given it as a give three different times!). Love the inventiveness in this.
LOL! You certainly know what to do in the case of a zombie apocalypse don’t you?
Love this box. The ewoks were my favorite and wickett was so cute and cuddly. Can you tell I had a star wars fan for a brother growing up? Lol. Now whenever we see ewoks N goes look mommy your favorite. btw there is an ewok hallmark ornament this year and an ewok village lego set incase you can are needing anything. 😉
Those ewoks were so cute!!
I need a real life one.
I am so sad 🙁 I subscribed to LootCrate but not in time to get this month’s box. I want an Ewoking Dead shirt 🙁 *Sigh*
Boo ;(. Someone said to check their store for left-over items?
Love this!! I’m really into The Walking Dead right now (read: Daryl Dixon) and this is an awesome box! My dad would love all this stuff!
A holiday gift idea!
