The folks over at Bunny’s Furr and Feather’s FunPack are thinking of launching a “Buddy Box” and asked if I’d want to check it out for Baxter and Buddy.  Basically it’s a box for those of us who have two dogs (or two cats).  Sometimes I get a box that includes one toy or one bone I know my dogs will end up fighting over it.  But if I got a box for each of my boys, it’d be too much because there is no way they can eat that many treats and snacks in a month.

The Box

BFF FunPack ships via USPS Priority Mail and took longer than the two days USPS promises.  My mail has been quite crazy lately and I get so many packages that it’s possible my mail lady just misses then on the truck every now and then.

First Look

I opened the box and called Baxter and Buddy over right away because I knew that they’d need to be modeling this stuff for me.  People probably think I am kidding when I say how much Baxter likes wearing clothes, but I am totally serious.

The Information Card

Again, this isn’t their standard November box, but rather a prototype / test box to see if it’s something people are interested in.  It came with the standard (and much appreciated) information card and included the following:

~Christmas Bell Smoochers ($15.94): B was here when I opened this box and was like umm, you aren’t going to put those on the dogs are you?  Umm, of course I am silly!  They were a huge hit!!   And the kids got a kick out of them too.  WB loved the bells and chased Baxter around the house trying to get his hands on it.  LOL!!

Modeling

~My Blankie ($9.94): At first I thought this was some sort of wearable blanket, but it’s actually just a blanket.  I spread one of them out as soon as I finished with my pictures and Baxter, Buddy and WB all sat right on it.  WB wanted to have a picnic on it.  The dogs love sleeping on a blanket and I love that they each have their own now.

~Doggie Snack Stocking ($5.95): This is something that two of would be too much! My furries are planning on giving this to my brothers furries for Christmas and even for their three dogs I think two would be too many!   This is exactly why I love the idea of a “Buddy” or pet sibling add-on box!

~Between Bath Spritz ($8.99): This is a combination of cologne and bug spray.  It keeps your dogs smelling good and the essential oils naturally repel bugs and fleas. I sprayed it on the dogs right away and thought it smelled great. The dogs aren’t too fond of sitting still while I spray them though.  But it’s worth it!

All totaled I came up with a value of $40.82 for this sibling add-on box.  Like I mentioned this type of box is not available yet, but BFF FunPack wants to get your opinion on this type of box.  They are thinking of pricing between $40-$45 for a dog/dog box and $37 for a cat/cat box and are still working on the details of a dog/cat box.

What do you think?  Is this something that would work for your family?  What items in pet boxes would you want toy receive multiples of and what would you prefer to just get one of?  If you are interested in reading more about BFF FunPacks or want to sign up for their regular subscription (which is available for dogs and cats), click here.  And if you can wait until Cybver Monday, they are offering 10% off EVERYTHING on their site with the code “RAM10“!!!

I love the idea of the box for two dogs but I do believe the price is too high. After seeing your review that the cost of the items don’t add up to the cost of the box I would prefer to just go out and buy my own items. If I thought I was getting a deal for the box, I would for sure sign up for this as owning multiple pets is not cheap 🙂

Have you checked out any of the other dog boxes?

Or do you get some of the other ones? There have been some great deals on Group, Gilt, etc. on pet boxes lately!

    3. Hi – we would like to reply to Sara’s concern about the cost of the Buddy Box reviewed. First, Jennifer actually received two of the My Blankie (see her photo and comment that she spread one of them out), each with a cost of $9.99 for the small size sent, so the amount shown here is actually closer to a $50 value. Also, as Jennifer mentioned, at the time of her review, we were only considering the inclusion / pricing and trying to determine customer interest. Well, there was a lot of customer interest! Our pricing is not as high as we originally thought. A dog/dog box is priced at $40.50. Please check us out – I think you’d be pleased!
