November MunchPak

MunchPak, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service and ecommerce website that aims to introduce the best, new, and popular snacks from all over the world to the average Joe. MunchPak officially launches on 11/15/13 and is $19.95/month.

The Box

I didn’t remember that I was getting a MunchPak so I was confused at first when I found it on my porch. But when I remember that it was going to be a box full of snacks I was beyond excited to dig into it.

First Look

First of all, the box is HUGE.  Surely it must be half full of packing materials right?  WRONG.  It’s all snacks!!!  I was impressed already.

The Information Card

I’m not sure that my box had a theme, but it included tons of Sweet, Salty, Sour and Spicy treats.  Since there were so many goodies in this box and I have so many pictures (I should have put multiple items in one picture) I made them on the smaller side.

~Mrs. Kleins Barrel Cured Pickel: I am fascinated by bagged pickles.  How do they stay good?  But they do and that’s all that matters.  I am going to put this in the fridge and give it to WB when he’s super annoyed about his teeth.  If B doesn’t get it first that is.

~Sabritones Chile & Lime Puffed Wheat Snacks: First of all these stink.  Second of all they are delicious.  Like a chile lime flavored funyun.

~Hawaiian Luau BBQ Chips:  I haven’t opened these yet, but I suspect L is going to love them.  I’ll put them in his lunch for a special treat.

~Sour Smog Balls: Sour Smog Balls?  Who thinks of this stuff?  That said my boys love them.  Of course they do.  They had L at the packaging.

Sour Smog Balls

~Riddles Skittles:  I didn’t understand this at first, but I do know.  The riddle is that the flavor of the skittle you get doesn’t match the color.  Frankly I don’t know if L ever realized that the green skittle was supposed to be lime flavored?  LOL.

Riddles Skittles

~Oreos: Who doesn’t like Oreos?  Even WB knows to take them apart and eat the filling first.  You must be born with that knowledge.

Oreos

~Rip Rolls: I’ve never seen such a thing.  L loves it.  And I can’t say I blame him.

Rip Rolls

~Quaker Granola Bar: I ate this after I took all my pictures.  It was hard work.

Quaker Granola Bar

~Planters Roasted Peanuts: Totally a B / L item.  Probably a B item because he’ll eat them long before L ever sees them.

Planters Roasted Peanuts

~Rice Krispie Treat: I might be the only one who likes pre-made Rice Krispie Treats better than homemade.  And I think it’s cute that you can write on the package.

Rice Krispie Treat

~Louck’s Sesame Snaps: I’m not totally sure how to describe these other than a bunch of sesame seeds fused together to form a cracker.  They aren’t bad, just different.

Louck’s Sesame Snaps

~Kar’s Sweet ‘n Salty Mix:  I wanted to open this and pick just the m&m’s out, but I restrained myself.

~Sour Punch:  When B got home from work yesterday and saw the MunchPak all over the  counter he kind of stared at it all, asked me what it was and stared at it again.  And then he finally asked if I’d taken my pictures yet.  After I said I did he scooped up a pile of candy to try, including one of these!

Sour Punch

~Laffy Taffy: I don’t like Laffy Taffy, but the boys do.  I don’t think any of us knew that this came in stick though.

Laffy Taffy

~Taffy:  I’d tell you what the flavors of these are and how they taste, but they are one of the things B scooped up.  He seemed to enjoy them though.

Taffy

~Keebler Fudge Stripes Cookies:  I love these!  They remind me of when I was a kid.

~Gray’on:  I feel like I have had one of these before, but I don’t know?  It’s a soft crystal like melon flavored candy.  It’s not bad, just different.

Gray’on

~Marimbas: This is a cherry lollipop covered with spicy and sour candy.  I am going to let L try this and watch the face he makes from the unexpected flavors.

Marimbas

~Kudos Dove Bar: A snack for L for next week for sure!

Kudos Dove Bar

~Pecas Mango Lollipops: Another item I am staying away from.  I just can’t get into suckers covered in chile powder.  Who am I kidding.  I’ll try it just in case it tastes different this time.

Pecas Mango Lollipops

~Starbucks GummiBursts: I’ve never seen these before.  They are gummy starburts with a   liquid filling.  I didn’t love them, but after I ate one and declared it not good, I asked for a second.  B and L refused though and ate the bag in about two minutes.

Starbucks GummiBursts

~Fruit by the Foot: L loves these.  Actually B does too.  We’ll see who gets to it first.

Fruit by the Foot

~Meiji: I *think* these are like PopRocks, but I haven’t verified it yet.  I am going to put them in L’s stocking for Christmas!

Phew!  I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this, but I think it’s well worth the $19.95!  If you are interested in subscribing or what to learn more head over here and check out their website.  And you can use the code “SNACKIN” to save 10% off your first MunchPak.
