Dottiebox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a box curated every month for women. They feature high quality handmade items, small businesses, and indie brands. They offer a their standard Dottiebox which is $26/month and a Dottiebox Mini subscription, which is $13/month.
Dottiebox ships via USPS Priority Mail. My box took the stated two days and was one of the many many packages I received yesterday. My mail lady only came once though, so I guess it wasn’t that many. Well, wait, she did come back and drop off one more before she left my neighborhood so I guess she didm’t come twice.
I hadn’t checked out their month’s vendors (they list them on their site) so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Dottiebox sends such a wide variety of items that you really never know what you are going to get.
Dottiebox doesn’t have a real theme, but the December information card indicated that they were celebrating the season this month by packing a box of lovely gifts. The box included the following:
~Earth Cookie Creation Naughty / Nice Clothespin Magnets ($5): My mom was like, umm, why didn’t we think of this? No idea but we didn’t and we both think they are adorable!
~My Vintage Fancy Filigree Earrings ($9): Not really my style, but it shouldn’t be hard to find someone who will enjoy these. The earrings are hand painted and are super light, which is something I love in earrings. I cannot stand heavy earrings!
~Plain J Body and Home Soy Candle ($7): The scent on this one is amazing and reminds me of that pumpkin sugar scrub that I got a few months and enjoyed so much. I know this one isn’t pumpkin scented, but that’s what it reminds me of. It’s wonderful.
~Sweet Addict Pumpkin Spice Caramels ($3.50): The pumpkin spice caramels were good, but I am quite intrigued by the “beer caramels” and the “margarita caramels”! I had no idea that such and item existed!
~Less Ordinary Designs Three Gift Tags: These are just cute little gift tags that you tie on packages. I don’t really do a ton of fancy tags like this (I just do not have time to tie all those0), but maybe in a few years I’ll be able to do this!
~Vandicrafts (25% off coupon code): Vandicrafts offers handmade greeting cards and is this month’s Dottiebox coupon partner.
All totaled I came up with a value of $24.50 for the December Dottiebox. Of course, I never include shipping in my calculations, so had I done that, I know that the value of the box would have exceeded cost! Plus, it’s all about discovering new handmade items!
Did you get a Dottiebox this month? What’d you think? December is sold out, but you if you want to get on the waiting list for January’s box or just want to learn more, click here.
