Friday’s Letters

Dear Target.com, Why you required signature deliver on two gift cards I had ordered but not on B’s iPad Air I’ll never know. The UPS man chased me down to sign for those cards, but that iPad Air happily sat unattended on my porch for hours.

Dear L, Congrats on your first report card! You did great! There are some things to work on (if you knew everything you wouldn’t need school), but I am quite proud of you.  And they didn’t need to tell me what a nice kid you were to your friends. I already knew that ;).

Dear Half-Days of School, You my friends, are over before you start! My goodness! I barely had time to keep WB breakfast, play trains and take a school and then it was back to school.

Dear TMZ / Radar Online / People, Why can’t I quit you? Do I need to know what Justin Bieber, Amanda Bynes and LiLo are up to all the time? It appears that I do since I must check you every morning when I wake up and also when I go to bed.

Dear Stitch Fix, I am quickly becoming obsessed.  After yesterday’s amazing Fix, I found myself up too late being unproductive and pouring through other people’s fixes on Pinterest.

Dear B, Finding out what time you need to report this weekend for National Guard duty might be something you should do today.  I’m just saying.  It seems like it’s something to find out.

Dear Me, Go get a ID card already so you can go to the Commissary and PX and get some groceries on the cheap!

Dear Elmo’s World on YouTube, Elmo, listen you are the man.  You saved me 2x this week and I appreciate it more than you know.  WB thanks you too.  But not like I do!

Dear My Phone, How is it possible that I lose you 5-10x/day? Seriously, it’s unreal.  Why do you hide this this from me? It drives me batty.

Dear Disney World, I miss you! I want to come see you soon.  L and I were just talking about it and we think a trip is overdue.  (Note: This should really be written “Dear Dad” as he is all over Disney trips and is probably up for one).

Spread the love

Well I am going without M in Jan since he said he didn’t want to go. I just made my own plans. LOL tobad L is in school or you could totally go with us. My friend and I will be there with 4 boys so it should be crazy. LOL

    1. Jennifer

      That should be crazy!!!!

The Disney comment cracked me up, my dad is the same way and plans all our Disney trips because he loves going with the kids. We’ll be there at the end of February and I can’t wait 🙂 My husband is particularly geeked out about it because they’ll have the new bands that are basically everything you need to get into the park, your room etc and he loves him some gadgets.

    1. Jennifer

I have seen those bands! They look so cool! Have a great trip!

hmm. I would say that if your husband needs to report tomorrow, finding out a time todaywould be a good idea haha.

I used to be obsessed with reading perez hilton before he became a huge sensation. Then I realized I was wasting time and stopped haha

    1. Jennifer

Lol. He has since found out!

woohoo! disney world is in my side of the woods! It’s still super warm here too. The past few days have had highs around 80!

    1. Jennifer

      It’s like 20 here!

The UPS thing KILLS me. I had to sign for a letter but they left a computer in ORIGINAL PACKAGING just sitting on my porch for six hours.

    1. Jennifer

It was so random. I’m guessing it’s Target’s call since UPS doesn’t know what’s in it, but it seemed so silly!

Don’t get too excited about the PX and Commissary being cheaper. The prices are the same as everywhere else, the difference is that you don’t pay sales tax. Some may see that as worth it, but when you factor in the extra time and gas to get there (if you’re not that close), you may find it isn’t worth it. But hey, if you’ve not done it before, you may like it (the boys will love going on post)! There are also coupons and deals put out just for Military Commissaries and Exchanges.

Also, get in there while you can, as word on the street is DoD is going to start limiting NG and Reservists to one visit per month (once they instal an actual CAC scanner to check).

Welcome to the military community! Fingers crossed you won’t ever see any deployments 🙂

      LOL! I certainly hope not!

We live maybe 10-15 minutes from post. Not too far. My husband used to be in the Army and that’s actually how we met! He was stationed here! I used to LOVE the commissary only coupons they’d out out. I haven’t been there in years though (since he got out).

I’d be fine with the once a month thing. Considering that it’s been a few months since he’s joined and I haven’t even bothered to get an ID yet!!!

      1. Amber

Oh goodness, you’re an old pro, then, LOL! I haven’t bothered getting a new CAC yet, either…too much hassle 😉

        1. Jennifer

I do recall them having some different kinds of things at the commissary that you couldn’t always find at like kroger or something. And I love their line system. Why all grocery stores haven’t implemented that is beyond me.

  7. Leigh

Girl get that ID! I love the commissary! Things like milk, meat, bread, and produce are much cheaper than the local grocery stores (at least down here. I can’t speak for other bases). Things like snacks, crackers, and personal care items are about the same as regular stores.

And yeah, he better find out when to show up! Maybe check and see if there’s an FRG for his unit, and get put on their email list?

    1. Jennifer

lol. He found out! I used to shop there when B was in the army. They just seemed to have different things than like Kroger! And all those military only coupons.

I lose my phone all the time, I set it down thinking it s a good spot I’ll remember. 2 minutes later it’s lost! Once we were out fishing at night and I was freaking out looking for my phone… Using the flash light on my phone! Duhh…

    1. Jennifer

      I have so done this!!!!!

  9. Lindsay

That is too funny about your dad and Disney! My stepdad is the same way! We just planned our trip and we leave on Monday!! Can’t wait!

    1. Jennifer
