January 2014 Binka Box

Binkabox, who kindly sent me this box to review, sends a gift basket of unique, hand-picked (and often hand-crafted) products for babies and toddlers your door on a monthly basis.  Subscriptions range from $12/month – $32/month and are customized to your child’s age (newborn to age 5).  The box I received was the Premium Box ($32/month) and is for WB, who is 21 months-old.

The Box

Binkabox ships via USPS and boxes arrive between the 17th and 22nd every month.  This arrived yesterday, so it was right on time!

First Look

The January BinkaBox didn’t have any information cards in the box, however, it appears that the information is going to be online for this box.  It’s not up yet, but I am guessing it’s because it’s so early in the shipping window.  Here is what I received:

~Felt Teeny Tools ($17.60): OMG how cute are these guys?  These are things my mom and I would act like we could make and then actually try to make and realize it would be way less expensive (and way easier) to just buy them.

Teeny Tools Set

~Felt Flash Cards ($9.60):  Again, I love these.  WB can rip apart a book (board book, paper book, whatever) / flash cards like you wouldn’t believe, but he won’t be able to ruin these!

Felt First Words Book

~Felt Money Set ($12):  Felt money > paper money for kids for sure.  At least kids like WB.  Now he will be able to play McDonalds with L without ruining the paper money L gives him to pay.

Felt Money Set

~Mustache Wand ($10): I tried to get WB to pose with this and it just wasn’t happening. I will continue my attempts though and if I can catch him, I will post it on Instagram.

Mustache Wand

~Organic Herbal Salve for Kids ($10):  This salve provides contains “healing herbs and essential oils provide relief from cuts, scrapes, burns, and rashes”.  No one has any of these things going on right now (they will soon I am sure) so I couldn’t test it, but I am ready for them when they do.

The Botanical Kids Owie + Healing Salve

~Medieval Castle Paper Theatre ($7): This is going to end up being an L project, which is totally fine with us.  It starts out flat and once cut and folded and all that turns into a fun theatre that you can play with.

I came up with an estimated value of $66.20 for the January 2014 Binkabox.  I think Binkabox is the only box of it’s kind and I love seeing what they come up with every month.  If you love unique etsy type stuff (and I know I do), totally check this one out!  I received the “Premium” Box, which starts at $32/month (it’s $35/month for a monthly recurring subscription or $32/month if you purchase a 6-month subscription), so the value is clearly there as well!
