Believe it or not, my March 2014 ipsy My Glam Bag arrived today. I actually can’t even believe the mail got delivered today. I thought it may be a record for ipsy because it came so early this month, but I went back and looked and my February bag arrived on the 13th as well.
If you aren’t familiar, ipsy is $10/month and sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products.
ipsy ships via DHL Global Mail (it starts out as DHL and is delivered by the Post Office)
and took 5 days to arrive this month. In the past it’s taken up to two weeks, so five days is awesome!
ipsy releases the contents of their Glam bags on the 10th of the month and I’ll admit, I was just meh about it when I looked. I always think ipsy is worth the $10/month, but I am not too sure how I feel about the ipsyMatch system. Sometimes it’s right on for me and sometimes it’s not even close.
The March 2014 ipsy My Glam theme was “Destination Beauty” and included items that work on exotic beaches or a simple stay-cation! I believe there were 11 different items that could have arrived in your ipsy bag this month and each subscriber received four of them. Here are the four I received:
~bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready ($~9): I am not a lipstick fan so this will be headed to my SIL who is one. I collect all the lipsticks I received and them box them up and pass them on. She’s always thrilled and I don’t believe she will ever have to buy another lipstick again ;).
~NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow ($6): Totally love all these colors, but I already have so many shadows in these shades. This will likely end up being passed along to a teenage cousin of mine who will be thrilled to get some new stuff.
~Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner ($24): This will for sure end up in the gift pile because I just cannot pull this color off. I probably wear eyeliner maybe, maybe once a month (and that would be so generous of an estimate) and if I do it’s brown. I will trade this or pass it on to someone who will be able to pull it off and who will love it!
~Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer ($9): Now this I am keeping! It’s a primer that gives you a glow and will help your makeup stay on longer.
~The Bag: The bag is a little bright, but I love it. It was designed by Klari Reis and is the street map of the city where ipsy started: San Francisco. How cool is that? You can check out the full San Francisco topographical painting here. Totally love.
All totaled I came up with a value of about $48 for the March 2014 ipsy My Glam Bag. It’s probably the exact opposite of the items I would have selected for myself. I would have went for the Pacifica Body Butter, the Nicole by OPI Polish, the bareMinerals LipGloss and the Be A Bombshell Quad. But you win some and you lose some and I have gotten some fabulous ipsy bags these past few months, so I can’t complain! I will find new homes for the items that don’t work for me and keep my fingers crossed next month is a better fit of products for me.

My ipsy bag arrived two days ago (in CO)! Doubt that you recall, but last month we got the exact same bag contents. This time, I got your “wished for” bag. I have to say too, that it is probably my favorite bag yet. Truly… just happy I didn’t get more fake lashes. Lol.
Now that is a record getting it so quickly!

I love ipsy! I haven’t gotten my bag yet, but according to my glam room I got the bag you wish you’d gotten (Pacifica Body Butter, Nicole by OPI Polish, bareMinerals LipGloss and Be A Bombshell Quad). I’m so excited to get it! It’s exactly what I wanted! Ipsy can be hit or miss with the Ipsy Match but the value is always there.

I got the exact same items! I love the pallet and the lipstick. Not a fan of the blue liner. Haven’t tried primer much, so I am interested in trying that out!
I saw a picture of someone with the blue liner and it looked great on them. I just don’t think I can do it.
I got the exact same bag as you. Gave the eyeliner to my blonde haired, blue eyed babysitter who it will look fabulous on. Everything else will work for me but I agree – I’ve gotten way too much brown eye shadow lately!
It’s great colors, but I feel like I have gotten so many just like it lately.
I got your twin ipsy bag and I too was meh about it. I would have really loved the Pacifica body cream and the OPI polish too. Sometimes it seems like a jumble of things in these bags and sometimes it seems like an exact match of my profile choices. This was my jumble but I will pass it on to others that will love it. 🙂
Exactly. Sometimes it’s perfect. Sometimes not so much. But it’s a grab bag of goodies, so it’s the risk you take.
Of course I canceled my ipsy subscription one month before they send a bag I actually like. What a bummer!!!
I hope they continue with these cool bags.
Don’t hate! I got the Pacifica, Nicole by Opi, Be a Bombshell Quad & bareMinerals Moxie lipstick- and I wear lipstick all the time. So yes, super happy with all the choices! I wouldn’t have wanted anything I didn’t get….

Waiting on my first Ipsy bag to arrive. Should be here any day (I’ve been stalking the tracker!) According to my glam room, I’m getting the lipstick, the nail polish, the eyeshadow quad, and the pixi primer.
My tracker doesn’t update well. It’s like four states away on the tracker and then two minutes later it’s in my mailbox.
I got the same items you received and love them all. I liked the liner so much that I ordered one in black. Hope you get items you want next time. Ipsy is such a great deal

I am convinced those questionnaires on any of the beauty box sites are useless! I just turned 50 and keep getting glitter type products, what am I going to do with that stuff? Yeesh! And some crazy colours as well.

I got the same bag as well! I guess I’m in the minority – I was excited to see the eyeliner…..I wore it right away and loved it. The lipstick isn’t quite the right shade for me so it’s going to my mom. I was happy with the shadow pallete – I seem to have more of the smoky blue shades right now so this is a nice change. As an aside, does anyone EVER use up a whole eyeshadow pallet????
Never. It’s like a bottle of nail polish. Never gets finished.
I got the Be a Bombshell Quad (I wanted the NYX palette), everything else was perfect for me….
I always plead and hope I’ll get something I am hoping for. Alas, pleading and bargaining has not worked so far. lol

I got the lipstick and primer as well, but I also got the Be A Bombshell – Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad and Nicole By OPI Roughles which has this really cool texture to it. 🙂 I love the eyeliner pencil you received totally my kind of thing. 🙂

That’s the bag I got too. I haven’t opened the nail polish. I think I’m going to try trading someone for the eyeliner? Never tried trading before. Not sure if it’s worth the hassle but the eyeliner retails at like $24 dollars. The nail polish for me is meh becuase im pretty active. I do paint my nails all the time but I would think something with a rough texture would snag more. Thats usually the case with the glittery polishes so I’m really just assuming the same to be true for this? I have seen people use the liner just at the edge of the eye on top and bottom so it isnt over powering and I really love that. The Bora Bora quad was better than I thought it would be. More usable and blendable. I did actually use all four colors on my eyes without looking like Mimi from Drew Carey…. anyone? Lol

I got the same bag as you, except with a sample size of the lipstick instead of the full size. I wonder Ipsy does that.
Oh, I didn’t get a full size! Mine is a sample as well. Maybe it just looks bigger in the picture. It is not. It’s probably 1/2 of a regular sized one.

We go almost the exact same bag! I wonder if our style preferences are similar? I really liked my bag besides the Pixi beauty primer, but I’m with you, I would have preferred the OPI nail polish and the Pacifica body butter, but I got one of Pacifica’s lotions last month so I wonder if they try not to do similar samples so close to each other? I was also surprised at how quickly these shipped this month, it came the same day as my Birchbox subscription. Ipsy is normally my last subscription of the month to show up and this time it was the first!
I’ll definitely be following your blog from here on out to see if we keep getting similar bags! (;

I was pretty happy with my Ipsy this month. I got the blue nail polish, the lipstick, the primer, and the eyeshadow quad.

I got the Pixi Primer, Opi polish, Be a Bombshell Quad, and the BM lipstick. I gave the eyeshadow to my daughter because I cannot pull off the bronze and turquoise. Everything else I love but I would have really enjoyed the Pacifica body butter.
