March 2014 Yumvelope

Yumvelope, who kindly sent me this complimentary package for review, is a monthly snack subscription service. Each month they send you 6 or more full-sized all-natural products from little-known food manufacturers around the country.

The Box

Yumvelope ships via USPS Priority Mail and arrived earlier in the week.  Boxes typically arrive on the 15th of the month and no longer appear to ship in an envelope (also known as a “yumvelope”) and now ship in a box.

First Look

I did not recognize a thing from the first look.  Not a thing.  And I loved that!  I was anxious to dig in and see what everything was.

The Information Card

Yumvelope does not have a monthy theme, however, the information card includes product information, prices, as well as, information on where to purchase the products.  Here is what was included:

~Good Life Granola ($6.50):  Good Life Granola is a Michigan company which I wasn’t aware of!    I will have to look around to see if they are carried in any stores around here. I tried a bit of this and thought it was pretty tasty!

Good Life Granola

~Lush Gourmet Foods Almonds ($9): These are made in Michigan as well and are more of a B item.  I’ll send them to work with him and they’ll make a great snack.

Lush Gourmet Foods Almonds

~Frontier Potato Leep Soup Mix ($3.95): I don’t know that I have ever had potato leek soup, but it sounds pretty good.  I used to think that soup mixes never made really good soup, but I stand corrected.  I have had some pretty good soups from mixes.  I don’t if we will try this one chilled or warm, but I am excited for it.

Frontier Potato Leep Soup Mix

~Bliss Bars ($6): These aren’t my favorite, but are much healthier than what I would actually prefer to snack on ;).  They aren’t bad, just different.

Bliss Bars

All totaled I came up with a value of $25.45 for the March 2014 Yumvelope box.  The box is $21/month, and does a great job of including small batch items I would never be familiar with otherwise.
