The Bouqs, who kindly sent me this to review, delivers farm fresh flowers straight to your door. This means that you’ll receive the flowers 2-4 days after they are cut, instead of the 10-14 days you’d get with traditional flower deliver services.  They offer both a monthly subscription service (I still want this) and one time deliveries.

The Box

The Bouqs ships via FedEx directly from South America.  You can select the date you wish to have the flowers arrive and can opt for signature delivery or elect to have them dropped at your house without a signature.  I opted to have them left on the porch.  Had it been summer and I knew they’d be sitting out in the hot sun for hours, I probably wouldn’t have, but it’s cold here so they were fine.

First Look

I opened the box and immediately thought they forgot my flowers.  LOL!  I didn’t realize that I had ordered a mini bouquet and I wasn’t expecting them to be so small.

Unboxing The Bouqs flowers is a process!  Everything is wrapped very securely so it all stays safe during shipment.

The Bouqs flowers take some time to open up and really flourish, so don’t judge them until a day or so after you receive your box.  They are still kind of sleepy when they arrive so they don’t always look 100% amazing!

I have received roses and ranunculus from The Bouqs in the past (in addition to the roses B sent me from The Bouqs for Valentine’s day), so I wanted to try out something totally new.  I opted for a Double “An Elegant Twist” Bouq.  It’s 16 Mini Calla Lilies in White and Pink.  I totally missed the “mini” part and probably wouldn’t have ordered it had I realized they were mini ones.  I like “big” flowers so these were really different for me.  However, they are gorgeous and are still looking amazing after nearly a week.  They are just smaller.  I would for sure recommended AT LEAST a double bouq with this flower, if not a triple bouq.  I think that about 100 of these mini calla lilies in a vase on my table would look insanely beautiful, but this probably won’t be happening anytime soon!

I think for my next Bouq I am going to go for Pink Ranunculus.  I loved the white ones so so much and have been thinking about them ever since I received them.  Hopefully B is reading this because they would make an amazing Mother’s Day gift!!

I was wondering if there is a secret to to making the flowers last longer like put something in the water or re-cut them every so often?

    1. Jennifer

I have heard that cutting them works, but I have never actually tried.

Thanks for the review! I have been so curious about this service. While I love the quality and totally get the convenience factor, I wish the price was lower (taking the trek to the farmers’ market is still the much cheaper option).

That probably would be hard to beat price wise.
