Nerd Block Jr.
Cost: $19.99/month
Ships To: United States, Canada and most other countries worldwide.
Nerd Block Jr., who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly surprise box for kids! It’s is specifically designed for children (you can opt for a Boys Block or a Girls Block) aged 6-11 and is filled with toys and games just for them. They also offer an adult box for $29.49/month. This review is for the Girls Block. I will have a Boys Block review coming up in the next few days as well!
Nerd Block ships from Canada and took only three days to arrive. How my packages from New York can take a week and this can come from another country AND clear customs in just three days is beyond me.
This was a great first look! I (obviously) don’t have a little girl, but it looked right away that there were things my boys could enjoy as well. Nerd Block Jr. doesn’t have an information card, however, our customs label on the front of the box did list the contents. I like information cards better though, because they allow you to know if you are missing something (not that I think we were, but you know what I mean). Regardless, here is what was included in the April 2014 Nerd Block Jr. (Girl) box:
~Plush Smurf ($7.18): We love the Smurfs (me more than everyone else I think)! I am going to save this for a fun surprise when the next Smurf movie comes out. I have no idea when that is, but it’s bound to happen!
~My Little Pony Class of Cutie Marks Set ($7.99): I am not going to say who, but someone in this house knows the names of all the My Little Ponies. LOL!!! He claims he doesn’t like them anymore, but I am 100% sure when I give these to WB he will instantly want to play with them.
~Playmobile Figures Mystery Pack ($3.49): For whatever reason, we never really got into the Playmobile thing around here. But L loves Mystery Packs ( I do too) so I will be giving this one to him.
~Baby Filly Princess Mystery Pack (~$2): I am not sure who Baby Filly Princess is, but I am sure I can find a little who who will totally enjoy this!
~Sort of Shy Sticker (~$1): Aww, Piglet! Don’t be shy! This sticker will also end up being passed along to a friend with a little girl!
All totaled I came up with a value of about $21.66 for the April 2014 Nerd Block Jr. (Girl) box! Boxes are $13.99 (plus $6 shipping), so it wasn’t crazy valuable. However, this is one of the only boxes out there with just toys for older kids and I don’t really know what kid wouldn’t love getting a box of presents in the mail just for them!
