Don’t ask me why (no really don’t because I have no idea), but I was so excited for the arrival of my April 2014 Snoop Dogg Fancy Box today. When I heard he was one of the new curators for Fancy Box, I knew I had to get the box. For Shizzle!
Just in case you aren’t familiar, Fancy, offers monthly subscription boxes which range in price from $39/month – $42/month plus shipping. They have a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies and celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Kelly Rowland, Coco Rocha, Snoop Dogg and / or Tyler Florence. They also offer a Fancy Food Box (which is one of my favorites).
Fancy Box ships via FedEx and took, yep, two days to arrive. This box promised to arrive by 4/20 (of course it did) and you had to be 18+ years of age to purchase it (I barely qualified for that – LOL). I think the age requirement sealed the deal for me. That and the fact that Fancy has a disclaimer on their site releasing themselves from any liability which results from using these products. So buy and use at your own risk people.
Totally laughed when I peeked in the box. It was exactly what I expected from this box!
The April 2014 Snoop Dogg (whatever happened to Snoop Lion) Fancy Box totally had a “green” theme to it. I don’t know if it’s going to continue along these lines, but I’ll be finding out. The information booklet was exactly like the Kelly Rowland one and wasn’t the individual information cards that we’ve been getting in the past. One thing is for sure, I am 100% certain that Snoop personally picked these items out. Here is what was included:
~How High Am I? Journal ($9): OMG, this is hysterical. It has room for all your brilliant ideas and also has a section for what you are snacking on. Ha!!!!
~Fire Bucket Ashtray ($18): I posted a picture of this box on Facebook and my SIL right away commented on how cool this ashtray was (and no, she doesn’t smoke). I am going to use this in WB’s room – it’s firetruck themed. Who in the world would have thought that a Snoop Dogg box would have the perfect item for a 2 years old room in it?
~Solopipe ($70): I had no idea what this thing was and had to reference the information booklet and then the internet. Basically it’s a lighter / tobacco pipe in one. I had no idea such a thing existed. Why would I? But still. B has a friend of school who I hear would enjoy this, so off to him it will go!
~High Times 4-20 Issue ($5.99): I am totally going to read these articles (why not?), but what struck me most was that this publication has been around for 40 years! That is amazing!!
~100 Dollar Bill Napkins ($7): These are some expensive napkins (you only get 10 in a package), but I guess it’s a bit expensive to wipe your face with hundreds now isn’t it? L will get a complete kick out of these, so I am going to surprise him with them at dinner.
~Snoop Dogg Cone (~$3): I am not having much luck coming up with a link for this exact item, but I have located many Snoopy Snow Cone machines (totally different search idea google)! If you use these I am sure you know what they are for.
All totaled I came up with a value of $112.99 for the April 2014 Snoop Dog Fancy Box. The box itself was $49.95 ($42 + $7.95 shipping) so obviously the value was there. While I am not going to use many of the items, it’s basically what I expected and I had to get this box to check it out! I am planning on getting it in May as well because I don’t believe that will have a green “theme” like one did and I can’t wait to see what he picks!
