Hazel Lane, who kindly sent me this box to review, sends a carefully curated box of surprise goodies from that month’s selected city that they think represents its spirit. The idea is to give you an affordable way to explore the world without having to leave your house! Items you can expect to see included are food, drink, clothing, accessories and handcrafted items chosen by locals with the environment, social responsibility and CHICNESS in mind.
Hazel Lane ships via USPS Priority Mail. Boxes are shipped by the third Monday of the month (since mine was a review box I received it later) and Hazel Lane will send you an e-mail confirming shipment.
I couldn’t wait to peek into the package and I was greeted with a bunch of well packaged goodies! I had no idea what to expect, but whatever it was, I knew it was safe.
I didn’t receive an information card in my box, but I received the March 2014 Hazel Lane Kids Explorer Box. The March city was “New Orleans” and the following goodies were included:
~What the Sleepy Animals Do at the Audubon Zoo Book ($16.48): I.love.this.book. There is no question in my mind that this is exactly what zoo animals do at night. Because honestly, they are always sleeping when we go to the zoo and this explains everything.
~Cajun in your Pocket Ketchain ($9.99): Ha! This is hysterical. L and WB are both going to get a total kick out of it, but I am so saving it for their easter basket! I may even have to get another one so they don’t fight over it.
~Alligator Print (~$10): I don’t know who makes this so I had to guess on the price. I am planning on hanging this in the boys playroom as soon as I can get to IKEA (hopefully this week) and get a frame. The colors of this will go perfectly in there and it’s a great print.
~Blue Frog Chocolates of New Orleans Cajun Bunny (~$5): I love that they refer to this as a cajun bunny. It’s a gator, but I will go with cajun bunny. And obviously this is an Easter Basket item as well. Everyone gets bunnies. Why not get a gator this year?
All totaled I came up with an (estimated) value of about $41.47 for the March 2014 Kids Explorer Hazel Lane box. The box is $24.99 ($19.99 + $5 S/H), so not only was it cute, it was a deal as well! I totally loved this box and not only am I thinking of subscribing for the boys, I also want to grab the Men’s Easter Explorer from their Shoppe and break it up between B and I. I have wanted one of those water bottles since I saw them on Shark Tank and we’d totally use everything else as well, so why not??
