May 2014 GLOSSYBOX for Bergdorf Goodman
May 2014 GLOSSYBOX for Bergdorf Goodman Review

Guess what I have? A May 2014 GLOSSYBOX for Bergdorf Goodman Box! Eeek! GLOSSYBOX asked if I’d like to review it early this month and I couldn’t have said yes fast enough. I also have a regular subscription to GLOSSYBOX and I actually bought an extra box this month as well. It’s fair to say that I am super excited about this collaboration.

If you aren’t familiar with GLOSSYBOX, they are $21/month and send you five (or in this month’s case, six) luxury surprise beauty items to your door every month. I LOVE GLOSSYBOX and am constantly impressed at the value they pack into the boxes. They also do the best collaborations. In addition to this month’s Bergdorf Goodman box, they have also done collaborations with Dallas Shaw, The Man Repeller and Bydrie to name a few!

The Box

GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS. I know there were some shipping issues with the April box and I believe it had something to do with the fact that GLOSSYBOX switched their shipping to a new warehouse facility.  Don’t quote me on that, but I swear I read that somewhere (MUT maybe?).  Hopefully things are all settled down by the time these go out later in the month.

The Inner Box

The inner GLOSSYBOX was a special Bergdorf Goodman GLOSSYBOX box!  And as usual, I will be saving this box because it’s so cute.

First Look

Everything was perfectly wrapped and packaged, which is always the case for GLOSSYBOX.  I love the Bergdorf purple, but I had no problem ripping into this to see what was inside.

Second First Look

There are 15 different products in the Bergdorf / GLOSSYBOX collaboration and each box will contain six of them.  I was pretty pleased with my six at first glance, but I wanted to dig in more and really check them out.

The Information Card

As I mentioned before, the May 2014 GLOSSYBOX is a collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman.  It might be the most excited about a box I have been in a while since I don’t think I have tried 90% off the items that could be included in this one.  Here is what I received:

~Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer ($13.50): This primer is formulated to allow your makeup to “automatically” glide over the skin.  I don’t actually have any foundation to test this with (I just use BB cream), but I will be trying this as soon as I get some.

~Revive Intensite Volumizing Eye Serum ($70): Oh my!  I almost spit out my drink when I was calculating the price on this one.  Of course I had to test it out right away (it’s suppose to diminish the look of dark circles to leave eyes looking younger, brighter and visibly rejuvenated). I do actually feel like it firmed up the eye area and I will be testing this until it runs out.  And then I will cry because it’s gone ;).

Revive Intensite Volumizing Eye Serum

~Alterna Caviar CC Cream ($8.50): This cc cream is for your hair and provides ten different benefits (pretty much everything you can think of).  I used it last night after I got out of the shower (you put it in towel dried hair and then style as usual) and thought my hair looked extra shiny and smooth!  This is something I am putting on my “To Buy” list to use long term.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream

~Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolue ($9.88): While this is a floral scent, it smells much “deeper” than just roses.  It’s quite nice.  However, I wish this had a little sprayer or something instead of just being open so it was more user friendly.

~Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara ($12.80): This went on without clumping, which is a big thing for me.  I actually thought that the brush was great too and I didn’t feel like I needed to separate my lashes with a lash brush after like I have to do with some mascaras. I don’t know if it’s my holy grail, but I am happy with it.

~Lancer Lift Serum Intense ($55):  I just started testing the serum from the Mother’s Day GLOSSYBOX, which I am expecting magic from, but OMG this one?  I expect a miracle!  The card says it delivers firming and lifting effects and will help your skin look smoother and younger! Count me in for that.

Lancer Lift Serum Intense

~$25 Bergdorf Goodman Gift Card ($25): Since my box was sent so early (it was sent for me to review) the Bergdorf gift code wasn’t ready.  As I understand it, it’s a unique code that will be included on the information card and can redeemed at Bergdorf Goodman or bergdorfgoodman.com!  I have already been browsing to see how I am going to spend mine ;).  Probably on a fancy candle!

All totaled I came up with a value of $194.68 for the Bergdorf Goodman for GLOSSYBOX box.  Pure insanity.  This box is only $21 and is probably the most incredible value I have ever gotten for a box.  Ever.  There is no way I would have been able to try most of these samples without this box and now that I have this in my hands I am even more excited about the other ones I have coming!

What do you think of the May 2014 Bergdorf Goodman for GLOSSYBOX box?  What products are you hoping to get in yours (you can see a full list here?  And if you haven’t yet subscribed, you are in luck because these May boxes are still available!  Eeek!  Just click here and get your box ordered.  I don’t know of any codes, but honestly it’s an incredible value even without a code.

Disclosure: This complimentary box was received for review purposes. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
