Tandem Lane, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a care package subscription service for our elderly loved ones. Each package will include personal photos and letters to keep your loved one up-to-date with what’s going on in your life. It will also contain a selection of edible treats, comfort and indulgence items, games and activities, and other gifts related to that month’s theme.

The Box

Tandem Lane ships via USPS and you must subscribe by the last day of the month in order to receive the following month’s box.

First Look

Everything was beautifully packaged and looked great at first glance.  I was anxious to see what else was inside!

The Information Card

The May 2014 Tandem Lane theme was “A Trip to the Farmers’ Market” and included the following items:

~Family Pictures: Each box includes family pictures and a note which is personalized from you!  These pictures and letters are samples so you can get an idea of what is included.  I love the personal touch and so do Grandparents!

Family Pictures

~Brag Book (~$10): What better way to show off your family and grandkids than with a brag book?  I don’t know about your grandparents, but my grandma and her friends didn’t have iPhones that they passed around to show pictures of their grandkids (and great grandkids).  They use brag books!

Brag Book

~Fruit and Vegetable Snacks (~$4):  I am not sure abut the chia squeeze, but that’s probably more my aversion to eating out of pouches than anything else.  I have never seen those Nutri Grain bars before and will need to find them at the store because L was a huge fan!

Chia Squeeze
Nutri-Grain Harvest Bar

~Farmers’s Market Stationery ($3): Cute little notepad and perfect for writing out your Farmer’s Market list!

Farmers’s Market Stationery

~Puzzle Book ($6.26): Totally perfect!  Not only do elderly people like to do puzzles (I know my Grandma always had a puzzle book around), it’s also large print which is awesome.

Puzzle Book

~Canvas Tote Bag ($8): Perfect for toting around all your farmers’ market finds or just carrying your knitting / sewing around.  Or use it to carry your library books.

Canvas Tote Bag

All totaled I came up with a value of $31.26 for the May 2014 Tandem Lane box!  I had a lot of estimates in my value though, so it may be a little higher or a little lower.  I thought the curation on this was fabulous and could tell there was a lot of thought put into all of the items.  I also got a chance to check out some of the information cards from previous months and thought the same things about those months.  Previous items have included card games, notebooks, non-slip socks, lip balm, puzzles, soaps, a bonsai kit, snacks and more!

Rating Card

Also included in every Tandem Lane box is a Rating Card.  It includes a self-addressed stamped envelope so that your loved one can submit their feedback to Tandem Lane.  Since this subscription would mainly be purchased as a gift, I think this is a fabulous way to get feedback on the box!
