Hello Flo
Cost: Monthly Subscription: $20/month. Period Starter Kit: $29.95
Ships: United States excluding Puerto Rico, Hawaii & Alaska.
Hello Flo, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a subscription service that delivers a customized care pack of all the feminine necessities at the right time every month. Their goal is to eliminate any surprises or emergency trips to the drugstore and provide a bit of cheer when it’s most needed. They also put together Care Package Kits. I was sent the “Period Starter Kit” ($29.95) to review, but they also offer the “Postpartum Kit” ($49.95), the “Camp Kit Pads” ($24.95) and the “Camp Kit Tampons” ($24.95).
You may also have heard about Hello Flo because of the commercials they do. Their first one “The Camp Gyno” was a huge kit and their latest “First Moon Party” is even better.
Hello Flo ships in brown boxes that say “Hello” on the front. When you open them up, you can see the “Flo” part, but no one would know what’s inside just by the “Hello”, so you wouldn’t have to worry about your daughter being embarrassed.
I am far from a preteen and I even thought this was a great first look! Hello Flo doesn’t just offer subscription boxes and care packages, they also offer an “Ask Dr. Flo” section on their website with lots of tips and Q&A’s and articles about periods, puberty, postpartum, menopause, etc.
The Period Starter box includes two Get Ready Guides. One for Girls and one for Parents. Lots of good advice without being too overwhelming or advanced.
Here is what is included in the box:
~Totally Teen Always Radiant Infinity Pads: I think the “Teen” products are a great idea. The packaging makes you want to buy it and hopefully be less embarrassed about it.
~Always Dailies Thin: These are super thin and easily be tucked away in a zippered pouch or compartment in a purse. No one needs to know you are carrying them (and you should always carry something in case of a “surprise”) and they won’t with these.
~Olay Fresh Effects Everything Off! Wipes: I am 100% certain I was just as awful about washing my face as a pre-teen so wipes like these would have been awesome.
~Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candy: I love this hard candy and always have some in my bag. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like it. It’s just good.
~Hello Flo Pouch & Goodies: Each Hello Flo Starter Kit also includes a pouch filled with other goodies. My pouch included a “Bead for Life” Sanyu Bangle Bracelet, a mini nail polish, hair ties and a Good For You Girls Organic lip balm. It looks like the Bead For Life Sanyu Bangle Bracelet is in every Period Starter Kit, but the other goodies could change.
I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box (I rarely do with time of the month boxes), but it’s fair to say I loved this. I so would have loved this when I was a tween and I can’t think of one young girl that wouldn’t appreciate receiving this kit in the mail. Now a First Moon Party I don’t know about (LOL), but this kit would be a yes!
