Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her.  You may select from a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.

This package is for WB who is 2 years old.  I also received one for L, but I will do that review separate.

The Package

Zoobean previously shipped via USPS Media Mail, however, they now appear to be using UPS Mail Innovations.  I believe this month it took about five days to arrive, which was just about the same as Media Mail.

The Book

My Friend Rabbit

WB’s book selection this month was “My Friend Rabbit” by Eric Rohmann and is selling for $13.32 on Amazon right now.  It’s got beautiful illustrations and the story, which is about friends helping friends is very cute.  WB still likes to look at the pictures and talk about them instead of listening to the story that goes along with it, so this one is awesome for him.  And it’s something that L can work on reading on his own as well, which is great.

The App

Owl and Cat

WB’s app selection this month is “Owl and Cat“.  I love it for one because it’s only $0.99 and also because WB is super into cats right now.  We will be picking this one up for the long car ride we have tomorrow!

The Zoobean plan I received is $16.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  The book itself is nearly $14 on Amazon, so you are basically getting all those other goodies for about $3! If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a  Receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrowing it from your local library!
