August 2014 Kloverbox

Kloverbox, who kindly sent me this box for review, is a great way to try premium, all-natural and organic products for beauty, health, nutrition and convenience. Each month you will receive 6-8 premium products to sample, each from top brands and hand-picked by our health conscious curators. Boxes are $25/month and will have a value from $35 – $50.

The Box

Kloverbox ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two days to arrive. Boxes ship between the 18th and 22nd of the month. I am guessing this month was early because it was a review box?

First Look

I have never seen a Kloverbox subscription before so I really didn’t know what at all to expect. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t even sure what kind of box Kloverbox was when I was opening this one up!

The Information Card

The August 2014 Kloverbox included an assortment of items to help you feel “gorgeously green”.  Here is what was inside:

~Molly’s Suds Laundry Powder ($5.50):  I currently use Honest Co. laundry pods, but I am  certainly opening to giving this a try.  My main reason for loving the pods is because they are SO EASY.  No measuring, using too much, etc.  I know most powders come with a scoop, but I tend to lose those….

~The Good Bean Sea Salt Chick Peas ($1): My main issue with chick peas are their texture, but this totally solve that problem!  They are crispy and delicious.  I am going to get more for L’s lunches for back to school because he likes them too.

~Big Slice Kettle Cooked Apples ($2.69):  Hmm. I have never seen a bag of apples quite like they.  They are cooked so they are soft and have slices of apples and sauce.  Kind of like a fancy applesauce in a bag.  Kind of!  The kids quite enjoyed this but I think it would take some getting used to for me.

~Artisana Organic Raw Coconut Butter (~$1): I am debating if I want to put this in my hair to see how it compares to Coconut Oil or if I want to try this on a piece of toast!  I will report back.

~Stall Mates Wet Wipe (~$0.50): You never know when you are going to need this!  It says it’s flushable, septic and sewer safe, but I don’t know if I would test it.  At least not at my house I wouldn’t.  It just makes me nervous.  But it would be fabulous for a music festival or something along those lines!

~Livia Creamy Shade Face & Body Protector (Vanilla Amaretto) ($3):  OMG this smells incredible.  Totally incredible.  It smells like an Amaretto Sour and I love it.  I need more of this as soon as possible!

~Bella Lynn Deodorant Cream ($6): This smells really really good, but I am not sure I can get used to using a cream deodorant.  I totally relate deodorant to being in a stick form and I think it will take a while to get out of that mindset.

~Ellison’s Organics Nail Lacquer (Cast Your Care-ibbeans Away) ($9.50):  This color is beautiful and I cannot wait to do my nails with it.  I just painted my nail last night but they were a disaster and I took off the polish this morning (FYI: Don’t paint your nails at 1am).  This might be what I redo them with.

I used a lot of estimates in my calculation, but I came up with a value of $29.19 for the August 2014 Kloverbox.  I think that might be a tad on the low end, but I like to be conservative.  I was quite happy with this box and thought the assortment of products was great.  Out of the 8 products included I had only heard of one which is awesome!
